These grips are perfect! ...

These grips are perfect! They DO FIT the Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter (with round trigger guard). Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise. They are big, strong, and have no play in the fit. They make a BIG difference on recoil when you use those 44 mag loads! It took me about five minutes to install them. This is the model for the Blackhawk Hunter, Hogue #84000. I have to add... Midway USA has the fastest shipping on the planet!

Installing the first one ...

Installing the first one on a pair of Old Armies with brass Super BH grip frames took about 3-1/2 minutes, including removing the old grips and opening the package (but not consulting the instructions, since the method was obvious.) The second one took just over two minutes and the third, on a vintage 3-screw Super BH, took less than 2 minutes. The grips gave far greater comfort and security of grip, even for my hands which have large palms but short fingers. Excellent grip, with superb recoil control. The instructions, in small black print on dark blue paper, would have been almost impossible to read anyway!

Does fit Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter which has round trigger guard (also Hogue website states this). Excellent fit. The only way to control full power .44 mag rounds.

I purchased a used Super ...

I purchased a used Super Blackhawk that had Pachmayr Presentation grips installed. The gun was very uncomfortable to shoot with those grips as the covering over the back strap was narrow and peaked. This resulted all of the recoil force being concentrated in a small area of my hand. Based upon the positive reviews of this grip and my own satisfaction with Hogue rifle stocks, I ordered this item. I put 24 heavy loads through the gun this past weekend and was very pleased with the improvement in comfort. With the old grips I would develop a flinch after a dozen or so rounds due to pain. This problem is now gone. The price of these grips is $10 less than the Pachmayr grips as well! Great deal! The only reason that I subtracted one star is that the fit of the grip around the back strap is not great. That is only an appearance issue and does not affect the function.

This grip fit very well on my Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter model (purchased in 2009). Midway's description says it only fits squared trigger guards. Hogue's packaging says it fits every Ruger Super Blackhawk except the Hunter model. I was able to get it to fit so it's not much of a risk based upon the low price. I've yet to shoot it, but it has to be better than the wood grips.

Note that this grip DOES NOT fit New Model Super Blackhawks, which have a rounded trigger guard. Those firearms require the Blackhawk grip. I applied the latter to my New Model SBH, replacing the factory wood grips, and it transformed the gun from barely shootable to supremely comfortable.

This is an outstanding grip that almost eliminates the curl from recoil that single actions are known for. I have used this grip on both of my Magnum Research BFRs chambered in 500 S&W and 480 Ruger. The 500 S&W still recoils way too much for comfort.

Much better than factory grip. Allows a better hold on the gun w/ the pebble grain finish. The square trigger guard, being exposed in factory grips bites my middle finger during recoil on full power loads. Hogue grips fill in the space between the grip and trigger guard. No more bleeding finger! longer Hogue grips also improved my accuracy with steadier hold. I can't see how one can do better with the factory grip. Hogue grips...great performance and cheap too!!
