Use an RCBS size 22 ...

Use an RCBS size 22 shellholder instead, there is more meat/metal & it appears stronger. I am a fan of Lee products(Four presses, three powder units, lots of dies, cutters, trim units etc .... ) but they need to address the material strength in the upper rim of their size 18 shellholders. I broke one when trying to seat a primer harder than I should have and they sent me a free replacement one. I broke that one when I was pulling a "kinda stuck" shell out of the die. They do state that the shells need to be very well lubed to prevent that issue, but I still broke two units, so I see a pattern with this part. Like I said, I am a fan of Lee as a whole, but not this piece. I gave them two stars since they sent me a replacement part with no questions asked, but I would give them one star for performance of unit.

Very disappointed in this ...

Very disappointed in this shellholder. The lip is too weak. I will try the RCBS. This is the first negative I can say about Lee, I love all the other stuff they make.

These shell holders are ...

These shell holders are not very good. The lip that holds the case rim is to thin. I have within a week torn the lips off of two shell holders, leaving a case stuck in the die. These cases were well lubed. One occurrence was when just resizing the neck.

This shellholder rates a ...

This shellholder rates a zero. I too had the top lip of the shellholder break when trying to size my first case. The case was well lubed and only about 1/2 of the neck was sized.
