I've been shooting a lot of different ammos lately as part of an online target game using inexpensive ammo. This new load from Winchester has been superb in accuracy and reliability. Not many fliers that I could contribute to the ammo. In fact almost every group was consistent and among the better groups out of 3 of my Remington bolt guns. I've not tried it in my autos as yet, but in the bolts it's the "bee's knees".I like it, it will be one of my staples that is always on the shelf. I bought 2 more bulk packs today.Way to go, Winchester!!

I bought this ammo to try in a new Walther p22 semi auto pistol, I would not recommend it. Had many failure to feed and failure to eject, also much barrel leading. I decided to try it in my Ruger 77/22 rifle. The problems there were fewer, accuracy was good but the first round from each magazine full went anywhere from .5 to 1.5 inches high. This first round unpredictability makes it unacceptable for small game hunting. Next up was my Smith & Wesson model 17 revolver. The trouble here revealed why the p22 didn`t function well with it. The brass cartridge cases seemed soft and would not easily give up their grip on the chamber walls, I needed to hit the ejector rod with the heel of my hand to get them out. After 300 rounds the leading in the bore was so bad most shots wouldn`t stay on a 5 by 6 inch steel target at 25 yards, this gun is normally very accurate. When I cleaned this gun I needed to whack the handle of the cleaning rod with the palm of my hand to push a patch through it, and I could hardly believe the pile of lead that came out of it. Additionally the box contained many smashed or mutilated bullets, some cases had no head stamp, and a few primed cases with no bullet or powder charge. Perhaps I got a box from a bad lot, having been an inspector before retiring I do know that one bad example isn`t always a predictor of overall quality. None the less, I`m very leery of this ammo and will not buy it again.

Unbelievable ammo! Ragged holes at 25 yards and just over 1/2" @ 50 yards out of a factory 10" TC Contender .22 LR Match barrel w/a 4x pistol scope. Outperformed four other brands of ammo hands down!

Just to test out all these offerings of value ammunition, I got a box of 555 rounds of these Winchesters along with the box of similar Federal ammo: 36 grain 550 rounds. I used Ruger 10/22. Both Winchesters and Federals shot fine without any major issues. I had several failures/FTEs (stove-pipes) but it was not due to the ammo. It was due to some issue with the magazine. Groups were tight, but it could be because it is 10/22, which is a very accurate rifle. This ammo is cheap and performs great. I shot a foot-wide turtle at the lake from about 40 yards with this ammo. The bullet went in and out making a 1/2 hole. Also, one more note on this ammo, with moderate (8-12 mph) wind, the bullet drifts about 3-4 inches at 50 years and 5-7 inches at 100 yards. But this is normal for 22LR. I recommend this ammo.

I have now gone through 2 ...

I have now gone through 2 full boxes of the Winchester 555 and not had any problems at all,,,, I have 2 smith and wesson 15-22 rifles and if anyone has one of these knows they can be very picky in wich ammo you use in them. There were at least four different other ammo's I had problems with were the gun would ftf every round. For the price it cant be beat.

I purchased a box of ...

I purchased a box of these in March for use in a CMMG AR15 .22 dedicated upper. About 1 in 10 would not fire unless struck a second time. I also had some fail to feed, and a couple of stove pipe jams. Some rounds were more hot than others and would not drive the bolt back far enough. The accuracy however seemed pretty good. I found 26 that would not fire at all. I noticed a couple of the casings were dinged before use(no damage to the box). I used 3 different magazines from 2 different companys. I switched to some Remingtons and the gun functioned perfectly, switched back to these and the problems persisted. Judging from the reviews here as well as posts in outside forums you either get a good batch or a bad batch. I think it may be probable that more than one factory is making these under contract with poor quality control. So you got to ask yourself. Do you feel lucky?

I bought a box of 333 and ...

I bought a box of 333 and a box of 555 same ammo, the box of 333 was bad. after every shot I had to clear a jam, wore a blister pulling back ejector on beretta U22. after 2 hours thinkin the gun was bad I switched to the box of 555 and no more problems. same brand ammo 1 box was good and the other bad??? will not buy winchester brand again.

Bought two boxes of 333 ...

Bought two boxes of 333 for new Walther p22. Had problems with almost every round. Stove pipes, misfeeds, would not chamber. Remingtons worked without a hitch. Never again.

Very few failures to feed ...

Very few failures to feed or fire with this ammo. Reasonably accurate in my stock Ruger 10/22. I really appreciate the copper coating as it doesn't dirty my hands when loading!
