I have had this fixture over a year, removed and installed several barrels on A2 and A3 receivers. Have had no problems. Does its job.

This is a good upper ...

This is a good upper receiver holding fixture; however, the product description is a bit misleading. It says that this product can be used for barrel installation, but the instructions that come with the product say that it can only be used on flattop receivers, and that they should be clamped in a padded vise sideways. I had a flattop receiver, and had no difficulty using the product this way, but if I had a standard receiver, this product would not have worked for my barrel removal project. Other than that, it will do quite nicely for cleaning, accessory mounting, or other upper receiver projects that do not involve the amount of strain that barrel torquing does.

Worked very well when assembling a new rifle, and held everything properly. While removing the barrel from a factory armalite, the fixture began to tear at the pin holes and I had to use a different clamp to complete barrel removal.
