This aluminum base slides onto any standard 3/8" rimfire or airgun rail and converts it to the standard Weaver 7/8" width. Designed for use with Weaver Tip-Off rings.

Strange Item

Worked great on a Savage 29B,, a Winchester 63, and one Winchester 9422. Bought two more for use on 9422's. Will simply not fit on either. Many high quality RF scopes are short bodied and cannot be positioned well on little 22 receivers without some sort of extension. Folks, I'm still looking for the right one. This item is not it. Don't buy. It's a gamble.

Did not fit a grooved ...

Did not fit a grooved Winchester 72A. Too wide to fit at all, just falls off. Poorly designed. Grooves and set screws poorly positioned. It did snugly fit my 9422 but minty condition of rifle would be ruined. Package says "fits most 22 grooved receivers". Maybe it does but not mine.

What a great way to convert my old 22lr grooved receiver to a Weaver mount. Inexpensive and easy to install. It does leave 2 screw marks but it will never be removed anyway. A good solution for a broken rear sight. It will also fit the old air rifles my kids have.

I gave this mount 3 stars mainly because it holds fairly well. In my opinion it's a poor design. This mount uses two screws to force pressure on the top of the receiver which, in turn, pushes the base up. If you have a nice rifle go with a different mount. If you do install this be prepared for two unsightly screw marks on top of your receiver which have rubbed the bluing completely off. I'm surprised Weaver designed this since the rest of their base designs are nice and solid, and don't leave marks that scar the rifle.

This mount worked fine on my 9422, but a couple of helpful hints. I mounted a full size 3x9 scope. To get the rings positioned correctly you will have to file in another groove. The two grooves for the Weaver style rings are much to close together. You can also use 22 style grooved rings on this-then you wouldn't have to do anything. Other than that it works great and looks great.
