Product Information

Designed for volume production, the Lee 6-Cavity Bullet Mold blocks are machined from commercial quality aluminum and feature steel bushing and alignment pins. Lee mold blocks are machined from aluminum blocks making them rust resistant. Aluminum molds heat up and cool down faster than iron or steel molds so good bullets can usually be produced after only a few casts. In addition, they are one-third the weight of iron or steel mold blocks for less fatigue during extended casting sessions. To ensure the best possible bullets, mold block halves are CNC machined for unmatched roundness and size control. Lee 6-Cavity molds come with a cam operated, hard-anodized sprue plate which is held tightly with tempered spring washers at each end. Weights given are Lee's weights with suggested alloy; actual weight may vary due to alloy mixture used. Handles ARE NOT included (#117-892).

Great product, it takes ...

Great product, it takes about 5 times after you warm it up to produce flawless bullets.One of the gentleman said that he used Lee liquid alox as recommended by Lee, that's inaccurate information. Lee specifically says that you should "not" use lee liquid alox, your supposed to use wax, Any type of wax will do really, except candle wax. It leaves an oil residue that will also misshape your bullets. Make sure to clean your mold the first time you use them. They come from the factory with some oil on it, so you want to take a Q-tip or piece of cotton dip it in rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid and then clean all the cavities. Then you want to take a pair of matches and run it through every cavity until you smoke them or turn them black. The next step is to use the wax on vital points of your mold block and the sprue plate so that it will cast smoothly. If you use Lee liquid alox it will just cause you headaches. Then all you need to do is cast your bullets.

As always Lee's products ...

As always Lee's products come through and at much less cost than other molds...Follow instruction and this mold will work great... It amazes me the number of people that can't or won't read the instructions carefully... The instruction plainly say, DO NOT USE liquid Alox as it will bake onto the surface and prevent proper closure.... You can use Lee Bullet Lube #90007 to lube the mold, as this is very different from liquid alox...

I bought this mold to ...

I bought this mold to produce a high volume of components (6-8 thousand per month) It has performed very well. I use a low tin moderate anatomy water quench alloy so high mold and alloy temps are necessary. It holds the heat and I have not had any overheating. 99 percent are perfect. All need sized as they come out the mold @ .357-.359 and are all within .5 grain after sizing. The low tin alloy bullets are 124.7-125.2 a little heavier than the 120 advertised probably for 4 percent tin alloy. I recommend this product to anyone looking to cast this type bullet. Much easier to run than other more expensive molds. 6 cav rifle molds would be nice.

I have a lot of Lee molds ...

I have a lot of Lee molds and they all work great but this the first 6 cavity mold I've had and it is the best mold I ever used. No beating, no pounding, just pull the handle open the mold and the bullets fall out, some times a light tap may be required. If want to make bullets fast and easy I highly recommend this mold.

I now have 9 of the Lee ...

I now have 9 of the Lee 6-Cavity molds and they all work great. This one, the 120-TC is used for a 9mm and .38 Super and have never had any trouble when I do my part for the casting right. I use a spray bullet drop from Midway and the bullets drop with no trouble. I heat my molds by filling one cavity in the center three time. Then that cavity and one next to it twice. Then the cavity on the other side and the first two twice. Then the cavity on the other side and the first three. And the same for the last two cavities, doing them one at a time. It gets the mold evenly warm.

Wonderful mold. Easy to ...

Wonderful mold. Easy to cast hundreds of quality bullets in little time. I load the bullets from this mold for plinking 9mm rounds. I also load the bullets with a gas check for my 357 rifle. I read a post in this site about how a lady used her RCBS bullet puller to put a gas check groove on any lead bullet so she can put gas checks on the bullet. I tried it and it works. I fired these in a T/C contender to 1,900 fps w/o leading. Good product.

This is the second of two ...

This is the second of two Lee 6-cavity molds I bought earlier this year. I will simply repeat some of what I said in my review for the first mold: "Frankly, it is the best mold I have ever used (and I have used over 30 different molds.} As others have noted, you need to run your pot fairly hot and follow directions for lubing the mold. I use the Frankford Arsenal mold release in the cavities and also on the top and bottom of the sprue plate - makes the sprue material "plop" right off. Using Hardball alloy, the mold makes absolutely perfect bullets." You have to work hard to make a "bad bullet."

Good Mold Easy to use. ...

Good Mold Easy to use. Instructions are not good. Does not explain breaking the mold in very well. Although the instructions say you can use Lee Alox Bullet lube I would advise against doing so. Use that will stain the mold and make it difficult to operate. Be sure and "smoke" the mold very well before use.

I love this mold. It ...

I love this mold. It drops as perfect a bullet as is humanly possible. The design allows for more than enough bullet lube to keep the barrel from getting fouled and the profile feeds flawlessly. When I got my Glock 17 for a Duty Pistol, the ammunition crunch was in full swing. Factory loaded practice ammo was nonexistent and jacketed bullets were as rare as hen's teeth. I purchased a Lone Wolf barrel with standard cut rifling. This is a match grade barrel by their advertisement and it is a smooth finish. I then bought this mold and a Lyman H&I sizing die. All included, it was about 170 dollars and this would have been the cost of less than 2000 jacketed bullets. I have a large supply of lead so casting made perfect sense and with the amounts that I shoot, a 6 cavity mold is the ticket. I have them lubed with SPG and there is very little smoke, zero leading and the bullet is accurate out to 130 yards ( I like to shoot long distance to familiarize myself just in case). Would I recommend this bullet mold? Oh Yeah! If I could give it 10 stars I would. Lee makes a mold for the regular guy and I have 8 of them in various calibers. I intend to buy more when the need arises.Some may question the durability of aluminum molds VS. iron molds and for the average guy, the aluminum molds will do the trick. Plus, they are less expensive, lighter and that translates to less fatigue and a 6 cavity design means lots of bullets in a shorter span of time. Iron blocks have a maximum of 4 cavities.
