I found I cold get it to work by pushing the upper over to one side. This has one benifit in that the upper and lower are torqued or perloaded to each other. This makes for no movement between them. The link worked better with my AR-15 than my LR-308.

I bought one of these for a Bushmaster AR/M4 and it fits "almost ok". The offset would need to be deeper for it to just drop right in. It fits only if you tug and pull and torque, but once it's in there, it does the job nicely. If they'd have added another 16" of offset to the upper part, it would be perfect. But when you're ready to clean your rifle and already have the rear pin out of it, you don't want to have to use both hand to put this gadget in.

I bought this for my Rock ...

I bought this for my Rock River Arms AR but was very disppointed when I tried to install it in the weapon. The base of the link that is supposed to sit inside the lower receiver does not line up with the lower when its pin is installed in the upper's hole. I have to force it towards the middle of the lower to get it in, and pushing the takedown pin in is very difficult as is pulling it out. Looks like I'll need to take a file to it to make it usable.

Fits just fine in Bushmaster AR-15 as well as Armalite AR-10. This has made bore and chamber cleaning a much easier process. I wish I had bought this years ago.

I had exactly the same problem at the two reviews above. To make it fit my Rock River Arms, I had to do some filing to let it seat low enough in the lower receiver for the take-down pin to line up with the hole.

The link fit my Bushmaster just fine, ie. the holes lined up. But, that wasn't the case with my S&W. The holes were out of alignment by close to 1/16", because of excess material below the link hole, and it required several minutes of "filing" to make it work.

I used the link and it works fine.The link has a "right hand" that is if it doesn't fit one way, turn it around and put the pin in the upper from the other side (right) and presto you don't have mess with it.
