This wrench did not work ...

Comments about PRI Barrel Nut Wrench LR-308:

This wrench did not work with the JP Enterprises Modular Handguard for DPMS lr 308 rifles. I am e-mailing PRI to find out why, if they can't help, my next step will be to e-mail JP Enterprise to find out if others have had this problem and which is the correct wrench to use on their handguard. This is my first build so it could just be my lack of experience.

I am rating this product a 3 only due to the fact that like the other reviewer, it did not work for my rifle. Appears to be a very well made product however. Please note: I own a LR-308 Classic upper with plastic CAR style handguards. This tool did not fit the barrel nut on the Delta Ring. A standard AR15 Armorers Wrench worked fine for this.

Not sure why, but this wrench would NOT work on the barrel nut for my LR308 Oracle upper that I tried it on. It did work on the nut that came with my Troy TRX handguard though. I would be returning it if it wouldnt cost so much to send it back.

great barrel wrench. dont bother with some of the combo wrenches and just buy this. solid welded i pins n very thick. had to use a 16 inch breaker bar to remove a stubborn DPMS nut. even with heat on the nut n soaking in kroil i really had to really torque and this tool held up well. snug fit n never thought it was going to slip off.Two sets of pins on both sides. pins are slightly different offset on opposite sides so they must be made for different barrel nuts. The opposite side has a loose fit for a AR10 barrel nut. i have a PRI for an AR10 that is a tight fit, so i'm not sure what the opposite side is supposed to fit.

Wrench fits the LR 308, ...

Wrench fits the LR 308, SR25 and AR-10. I used this tool on 4 different DPMS LR308 builds, well constructed and works with 1/2"and 3/8" torque wrenchs and ratchets. Great product and a must if your gonna gunsmith the .308 AR platforms. Works well for removing the barrel nut used on the free float tubes and free float quad rails DPMS uses.

I'm sure it's possible to break this, but the one I purchased held up just fine for my barrel change, even as I torched the barrel nut, hammered on it, and reefed on it with a 18" long 1/2" drive breaker bar.

If you are like me and are only looking to building one 308 AR (maybe 2), then this is a great way to go. Its not a big investment to get the job done right. I attached my torque wrench and seated the LR-308, 20" barrel to the correct pressure easily. Works like a charm
