Nosler Ballistic Tip Hunting bullets have been trusted by hunters for nearly 25 years. They are precision made and individually inspected for the utmost quality which translates to incredible accuracy with every shot. The heavy jacket base prevents bullet deformation during firing and holds together at extreme velocities as well as a polycarbonate tip that resists deformation in the magazine and initiates expansion upon impact. The bullet's mid-section keeps it together at any velocity until impact, and a uniform, pure lead core eliminates possible imbalance and erratic flight caused by air pockets. Great for thin-skinned game like deer, antelope and sheep. This is not loaded ammunition.

These 140 bullets yield incredible accuracy in my Tikka 270 WSM! I have shot sub moa with this set up out to 600 yards. I have used them on antelope and mule deer with great results. I dropped antelope with them this past season at 380 and 412 yards.

Based on the reviews here I purchased a box to try. I loaded these in Federal 1x fired cases, neck sized in a Lee collet die.The average of 3- 5 shot groups at 100 yards. was .873". I also fired 2- 200 yd. 5 shot groups that were 1.100" and 1.147" I'm looking forward to bagging a few Whitetails this season with this load. I have used Ballistic Tips in my 30.06 Savage with 150 gr. loaded in Winchester brass, win. primers and IMR 4831 that shot very similar groups to the 270. 3 deer killed and they were all "Dead Right There" the 2nd one was shot at 435 yards. Broadside and he collapsed like the light switch was turned off. My experience with Nosler products have always been good and I expect no less from the 270 version. Happy shooting!

I have used these bullets for years with no trouble until this year. I shot a nice 8 pointer that was quartering toward me, that was probably my mistake right there. I hit the deer dead in the left shoulder, exactly where I was aiming. It left no blood trail at all, not one drop, but I was sure I hit it. It was only about a 60-65 yd. shot. Well we had 4 people to spread out in the woods and search and after 5 1/2 hours we finally found it. It went about 200 yds. before finally dropping. The bullet hole was right where I had the cross hairs, but no exit hole. After getting home and skinning the deer down, I discovered the bullet hit the left shoulder and turned and went through the gut and I retrieved the bullet just in front of the left hind leg. It was completely intact and perfectly mushroomed. Just out of curiosity, I weighed the bullet and it retained 70% of it's weight. I don't understand how it turned, no more than the deer was quartered to me. Has never happened before or since. But I very rarely have them drop in their tracks like everyone says, even with a perfect heart shot. But they always bleed like crazy. Maybe this was just a fluke and will never happen again.

After lots of load ...

After lots of load development with bullets from 110-150 grns this proved to be the most accurate by far out of my 22" sporter barrel. From 100-500 yards nothing came close. Worked perfectly on med-large size game, from antelope to large mulies, will use it for elk this year. Have never had to track an animal, dead in their tracks every time.

Exceptional BC and SD give this bullet real long range potential - I obtain very small groups with this projectile: that of course might be due to the quality of manufacture too - when loading some of these 2 days ago, I weighed 5 randomly selected out of the box, just for fun. The results? every one weighed EXACTLY 140 grains on my digital scales.

You can not find a better bullet for deer or smaller game!!! One shot is all it ever takes. This bullet has fragmented on me but that has only meant more trauma to the heart lungs area. 12 yards is farthest tracking job I have had. H4831 in my Browning A-bolt has netted .387" 5 shot groups at 100 yards.

This bullet is extremely accurate in my Remington 700 in 270 Win. It prefers H4831SC, Rem brass, CCI 250 primers and will shoot MOA groups consistently. It is scary accurate and so far I have shot a Turkey in the neck at 75 yards and a 185 lb live weight black boar hog at 225 yards with pinpoint accuracy.However I must admit, though I marvel at the accuracy of this bullet, its toughness disappointed me. When I shot the hog at 225 yards, I placed the cross hairs right behind the shoulder. The bullet hit 2 inches high from where I aimed (my fault for not compensating for a downhill shot) but it managed to get into the chest cavity and took out both lungs. Upon impact the core and jacket separated causing a double hole into the rib cage and a smaller double hole exiting out of the rib cage. I was able to find the core and the jacket stuck in the shield of the hog on the opposite shoulder area. There was no blood trail whatsoever and the hog ran 50 yards down into a creek bottom. I managed to stumble upon him piled up under a cedar tree DOA. So, the bullet did what it was design to do, but I feel it should have exited. Like everyone else, I like a good blood trail when tracking game. Yea, pigs are tough critters, but the only thing this bullet encountered was hide ribs and lungs. It is a good bullet, but I have my doubts on its ability to cleanly go through a good size hog's shoulder bone. Yes, this bullet has the accuracy to place the shot in the head/neck area but it depends on what kind of shot the prey gives you. If the bullet would have stayed together, I would have given it 5 stars. If you're looking for a scary accurate 270 Winchester bullet this is the one but if you are looking for an accurate bullet that will punch through a good size hog then look at the AccuBond.
