I purchased these grips ...

I purchased these grips to replace the plastic checkered stocks that came with my new 41 Magnum Ruger New Model Blackhawk. The factory checkered stocks felt like a cheese grater violently rotating in my hands when fired with light to moderate loads. The Pachmayr Presentation Grips provided a much more enjoyable shooting experience while shooting loads up to and including near max handloads. From a functional standpoint, they are fantastic. If you intend on hunting, these are ideal for the full spectrum of handloads. They fit medium to large hands and tame recoil. They were also easy to install. The only reason I did not rate it five stars is due to a 1/8" gap they leave along the front strap. Despite this small blemish, they do wonders for perceived recoil and I would certainly buy again.

This Pachmayr ...

This Pachmayr Presentation Grip almost completely fits my blued model 9.5" Single Six with the lock in the grip frame. In my case, the lock assembly is not wider than the grip frame, which I've read elsewhere that this might not be the case with a stainless grip frame version.The grip does mount on easily, but I do have about a 1 mm gap at the front. I can overlook that since I needed a larger grip than the stock grip for my Single Six since it is mostly a target shooter.For the money, this grip suits my needs much better than the small and thin standard black Ruger grip.

Nicely made but the ...

Nicely made but the description is misleading. These will not fit current production Single Six revolvers. I wrote to Pachmayr after struggling with mine and they replied that the current version Ruger with the internal lock is incompatible with these grips.

A good grip. I just wish ...

A good grip. I just wish they would leave out the goofy looking PACHMAYR medallion.If you have bigger hands this grip definitely helps manage the recoil on the Blackhawk in 41 & 44 mag.

My grips did not come ...

My grips did not come with the medallion, so I guess my set is a different run from the 'presses'. They are the presentation grips and I can say that they greatly improve the grip contour. The shape fits my hand much better than the original wood grips that came stock on my Super Blackhawk. The material is an improvement over the wood as well. The revolver locks into your grip and control is improved markedly.My one complaint about this grip set is the back section. While the side panels are checkered, the back strap is plain rubber and it starts to get slick when my hand sweats.This set of grips is much better than stock, they could be improved upon by the manufacturer.

Fit well on my new model ...

Fit well on my new model stainless blackhawk and has eliminated undue hand/wrist/forearm fatigue using the stock wood grips. My groups have also greatly improved. Yeah, single-action purists don't like rubber on their gun, but if you're more concerned about shooting comfort and vastly improved groups, then this grip will fit the bill. With this grip installed, you'll still be able to keep your gun in your original Ruger gun case. Also more forgiving over the Hogues as far as slight variations in grip dimensions are concerned. The rubber is soft and can be pulled over the grip frame. Installed, there will be a slight gap at the frontstrap and under the grips and that's the only reason I can't give this a 5-star. But other than that, this is a great grip and worth every single penny.

I am not sure why the ...

I am not sure why the other reviewers like these grips. Unlike earlier versions, they now come with a metal frame and the hard rubber surface. Although they feel good and work well, it took two hours to get the metal frame to bend enough to actually fit the revolver. They wrapped around the frame but wouldn't close at the front of the grip. My revolver fits well with the older all-rubber grips. The newer design with the metal frame still doesn't fit well enough and I am not happy.

very good fit on the Ruger - .44 Mag.- New Model - Super Blackhawk with round trigger guard. Absolute gripping without any slip what-so-ever. Wet or dry hands/gloves makes no difference
