I use this tool to decap ...

I use this tool to decap .223 Remington Military brass. The decapping pin is very tough. Even with heavily crimped primer pockets which the regular decapping pin in sizing dies will break or give, this thing will punch it out. The only gripe i have is that Lee should have made the decapper base such that it will receive the regular shell holders. The decapper base in this tool will not hold the case properly and you have to manually center the case so the decap primer will not be obstructed by metal.

pin broke on first ...

pin broke on first primer, may work on some brass but on lake city brass it is useless. 6 blows with hammer primer didn't even budge a little but pin bent.

Would of gave zero stars ...

Would of gave zero stars if I could. What a worthless piece of junk. All I have is Lake City Brass and it has snapped two pins back to back. Lee was good in replacing the first broken pin but I will not bother returning the second. Do not buy this item unless you can separate your brass that is crimped into 2 categories. Those that snap the pin and those that don't. Disappointed to the max!

Made depriming an ...

Made depriming an assortment of military brass a piece of cake. Some of the WCC cases needed as many as 3-4 whacks with the hammer to deprime. I hate to think what that would have done to my die. Well worth the cost.

Good product for I what I ...

Good product for I what I need it to do. Problem is, some of the military primers are crimped in so tight, that it takes 5 or 6 blows with the hammer to de-cap the case. My only complaint is the steel is a little too soft. After de-capping 1,000+ cases of 223, the punch is about 1/4" shorter than what it started out to be. The end where the hammer hits is now mushroomed out. So my suggestion is to use a plastic headed hammer.

Great tool to have for military brass, the first one broke after 40 rounds, but thanks to midway replaced right away and have removed 2500+ primers now. Make a base of wood and mount a jar to catch spent primers.

Great tool, especially considering the price. Just deprimed 300 223 military cases. No problems whatsoever. Couldnt be easier, should last forever.

Great tool for decapping ...

Great tool for decapping military brass. The .223 case fits the base to a Tee and no need to hold the thing while you hammer away the spent primer. I take this along with my Lee Reloader press to reload .223 at the range. Doesn't break like other pins. Costs very little and works fine!
