Wolff Shooter's Packs contain reliable springs which provide a great improvement in the overall trigger pull and hammer function. Installation requires disassembly and reassembly of the revolver.

Technical Information

Fits:

Ruger GP-100 series revolvers
Kit Contains:

1 each 9, 10, and 12 pound reduced hammer springs.

1 each 8 and 10 pound trigger return spring.
Notes:

Factory return spring is 12 pounds.

Hammer springs control the "feel" of the trigger.

Trigger return springs control the force required to depress the trigger.

Installation of a lighter spring makes it easier to depress the trigger.

Installation requires disassembly and reassembly of the pistol.

Incredible performance is enhanced~

by using this spring kit. I chose to do a complete disassembly, lightly stoned and polished the sear notch in addition to the hammer strut top and sides. After placing the 10 lb. hammer spring (left the trigger return stock at 11 lbs.)in the pistol, it brought SA from a gritty 6.5 down to a smooth 4.5~ DA went from 12+ with a stacking to a smooth 9.25. IMO, and for my weapon~ that is sufficient and keeps primer detonation reliable and trigger reset quick and finite. I could see dropping the trigger return spring (or the hammer spring to 9) only if this was to become a 'target' pistol vs. a carry gun (BTW~ this is in a Wiley Clapp heavy barrel 3"). Have enough spring left over to really take down a SP101 or a Super Redhawk to 'target' status.

Excellent replacement springs!

Bought these for my Ruger GP100. Couldn't be happier! If you have knowledge of disassembly and replacement, you can do this job without going to a gunsmith. I replaced the hammer strut spring with the Wolff 10 lb. spring from the kit, and the trigger spring with the 8 lb. spring from the kit. This made the revolver feel so much better and smoother to fire. I'm really impressed with the single-action performance. These will definitely improve your accuracy. I have no complaints about this spring kit. Everything is high quality, and fits my revolver perfectly. This kit is also the most highly-rated kit on Midway's site at the time I am posting this review, just in case you want to compare. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

I used the 9 lb hammer and 8 lb trigger spring in gp 100 and the 10 lb hammer and 10 lb trigger in sp 101. Yeah, sp 101 same spring's. I shoot reloads and 357 factory ammo never had a problem. The sp 101 has to be the 10 pounder no lighter. Look at there kit its the same spring after about 1,000 rounds all good.

Like a lot of the others here, I went for the 8 pound trigger spring and the 10 pound hammer spring. It seemed like with their results that was the route to go. I couldn't be more pleased. Before changing the springs I got out my Lyman trigger pull gauge. My plan was to test before and after the procedure. First, I put my GP-100 in a gun vise. I tested both double action and single action rates. To get a good reading I would test the pull three times and get an average pull. This was done three separate times to get three averages. With this, I averaged out the three averages. Here are the results before installing the new springs. Double Action Before: 10 lbs, 13 ozSingle Action Before: 3 lbs, 14.8 ozAfter installing the springs I retested using the same method.Double Action After: 6 lbs, 0 ozSinge Action After: 2 lbs, 0.2 ozNow, using both Double and Single action pulls, I can really tell the difference toward the better Especially, shooting double action. Slick as a whistle! This is one small purchase that is worth much more than the little amount paid. Big results! By the way, changing the springs out is a relatively easy task. I'd say anybody who owns a GP-100 should be able to do it with little or no trouble. The only tool you'll really need is a 1/16" drift punch. A friend of mine used a paper clip. If you own a GP-100 - do it!

Use too light of a spring ...

Use too light of a spring and you will get a light strike about every 15 or so rounds. But just move one pound higher in strength and WOW! so much better than stock triggers. Even if you just change the mainspring. Definite must for a new ruger handgun

Wow!I installed the 8lb return and the 9lb hammer spring and so far no problems with CCI Blazer.The DA is light as a feather.I'm only a plinker so if I do get a misfire no big deal. Easy to install. Ruger has disassembly/reassembly videos on youtube.Read no further .... Buy this product!!!!!!

Very happy with this product. I used the 8lb trigger return spring and the 10lb hammer spring. I really wanted the single action to be much more smooth and light and it is. Its not a hair trigger but its close to it. If you get a smith to stone your parts then it would be a real hair trigger and for hunting thats what I like. The 10lb hammer spring makes the double action much more of a consistent pull and much much faster.

10lb Hammer Spring + 8lb Trigger Return SpringGreatly reduced pull weight. Also smoothed out the pull. Few hundred rounds of various 38spl and 357s without one failure. Be sure to put a few drops of oil on both springs.These springs will really make the GP100 a pleasure to shoot.Greatly improved DA pull. Slightly improved SA pull.
