ProMag's AR-15 action blocks are constructed of impact resistant glass filled nylon that will not mar the finish of your receivers. The upper receiver blocks clamps around the receiver, fits flat-top and carry handle uppers. The lower receiver block fits into the magazine well, and is retained by the magazine catch.

This set is quite a bit cheaper than comparable upper and lower vise sets. But, don't let the price fool you. These are quality tools and work like a champ. I removed and reinstalled AR15 barrels without any problems and the vises handled everything fine. This product is a winner!

Recently purchased this product. The clamshell fit my A2 style receiver fairly well, however the insert that was provided to fill the bolt/carrier area of the receiver did not fit in the sense that it was WAY too small in diameter. It was a very sloppy fit, and there is NO way that this insert can provide any meaningful protection to avoid crushing or distorting the receiver when fully "vised up". Because of the poor fit of the insert, I exercised extreme care when tightening the clamshell around the receiver. I am really not sure why this insert is provided at all with a fit that is this sloppy....? Dimensions should be corrected at the manufacturing level.

Nothing more that a basic set of action blocks. I've used them numerous times to re-barrel and disassemble a number of AR's. There's nothing more to say than they've worked for me, haven't broken, and were relatively inexpensive.

Worked perfect for me. Have done several AR's with no problems. Lower receiver block is nice to keep the receiver upright when installing trigger parts. Uppers receiver block works great for barrel and hand-guard installation. Great set at a fair price.

Attempted to use this with a VLTOR MUR........it did not fit correctly. That is understandable. What concerned me the most was how low the receiver sat in the vise. Would be easy to damage the upper (at least the VLTOR due to the shell deflector sticking out a little further) with the vise as the receiver is directly in line with the jaws.

Used it for my first AR re-barreling project -- it made the job extremely easy. The upper receiver block holds the upper completely encased and safe from damage when taking off and replacing the barrel. The inclusion of a lower receiver block was a plus -- I'll be using it on a regular basis for maintenance.
