I am very pleasantly ...

I am very pleasantly surprized at this scopes durability. I purchased two of these. 1) for IPPSC Steel competition, and 2)for a low power, quick sight acquisition for my TC Contender 45-70. Both have functioned extremely well and have help up to hundreds of heavy recoiling loads. The brightness adjusts to any level light condition, and the choice of reticle fits about any situation. I rank it right up there with the best of my other brands in accuracy out to 150yds. These scopes do much more than I though they would.

This sight was purchased ...

This sight was purchased for NRA conventional (bullseye) shooting with .38 special target loads. The crosshair setting made sighting in easier. When shooting the first match after sight-in however, on switching the reticle from 3-min. dot to 10-min. dot, the zero of the sight shifted dramatically, completely off the paper. After re-zeroing, the sight has held zero adequately, but I'm not sure that I completely trust it yet. I do like the sight, but for this type of shooting, the multiple reticles are not an advantage. When I remount it, I will chose one reticle, sight it in, and leave it there.

I really wanted to like this red dot because it is one of the few that has an EOtech style circle-dot reticle but it just disappointed me. I mounted it on an AR-15 using a Burris P.E.P.R. mount and took it to the range to sight in. Right away I noticed that the .223 recoil would cause the dot to dim. The dot would come back after turning it off and then on again, and it did not happen every time but it happened often enough to make it completely unreliable. I thought it might be the battery that it came with so I replaced the battery with a brand new one and went back to the range a week later hoping that would solve the problem but it made no difference at all. The other thing I noticed is that changing the reticle patterns changes the POI significantly, and changing it back to the pattern used when it was zeroed does not return to zero. In other words, if you change the reticle pattern, even accidentally, you will have to re-zero the whole sight. I removed the sight determined to return it but decided to try it on a .22 rimfire rifle and was content with the performance so decided to keep it. The problem with the dot dimming from recoil does not seem to be an issue with a rimfire. I give the sight two stars because it is decent for a rimfire, and the reticle is very bright for use on bright, sunny days. In addition it comes with a sun shade extension and a polarized filter that makes the reticle crystal clear even against the snow on a bright, sunny day. As other reviewers have noticed the sight does have a bluish tint to it even without the filter.

After doing a lot of reading & comparing about red dot scopes, I decided on the Bushnell Trophy for my .22LR CMMG AR. I wanted a similar scope to the EOTech I have on my 5.56 ST M-4, but a lot less costly. With the dot in circle reticle choice on the Bushnell I have a very similar setup on the .22LR which allows great practice at low cost. The Bushnell scope mounted quickly and with no issues, and it sighted in easily. It has 11 brightness settings which are all I have needed so far; in fact, I have not exceeded level 8 even in real bright conditions. The dot in circle reticle is quite clear as is the overall view. The other scopes I was considering were considerally more expensive. For $89 I certainly feel the Bushnell Trophy RDS is a super value. Thanks Midway!

This is an older design with a small 28mm lens. Lens tint is very blue and makes the sight less bright than it otherwise would be. Controls are stiff and you must ve very careful to get the reticle knob centered on each detent to keep from moving POI when changing from one to another.Decent for the price, but there are better choices.

Used on a Remington 870, non-rifled slug barrel, with B-square mount. The last 5 deer seasons zero has not changed. Mount is on and off gun several times during the season as trapped moisture can cause rust very quickly. Camo tape on inside of mount prevents scratches. This year with no time to sight in I had to trust zero was on. 65 yards one shot 6 point whitetail. I like this sight.

I had a tough time deciding on a sight for my Marlin 1894 44 Mag. I used it about 6 months with the factory iron sights, but found after 25 yards, my accuracey died. This is a 50 yard brush gun, so I didn't want a scope. I looked and talked to everybody about red dot and holographic sights, and decided to try the Bushnell since I've had good luck with them in the past. This is a very good sight. It installed quickly, sighted-in under 15 minutes, and has held it's zero over the last 45 days (4x to range and 1 successful pig hunt). My only complaint is that the rings are too high. My next purchase will be for a set of low 30mm rings. Those wearing glasses may notice some reflection, depending on lighting and angle or sight. I have the sight mounted to a B-Square aluminum rail that does just fine. I've had good luck switching between the 3 MOA dot and the 3 MOA dot within 65 MOA circle with no (little) change in the point of impact. Consistant sub 2" groups at 50 yards, and 4" at 100 yards (with both eyes open!). Excellent buy for $80.

Mounted on a CVA Optima ...

Mounted on a CVA Optima Pro 50 cal muszzleloader. Accuracy was good, 2"groups at 50yrds. The mounts weren't the best so I used some Weavers. Held zero over mutiple shots. Very happy with it. Will buy another for my shotgun. Dont really use the multiple reticles though. Single dot is the best for me, cross hair and cricle/dot seem to fill the scope too much and obscure the target.

Upside: You get your money's worth out of this scope. It's reasonably durable, reasonably holds zero (at least the way I've mounted it), the multi reticle thing is COOL, and it has an "11" setting for brightness, for all you Spinal Tap fans...I'm generally satisfied.Downside: I have yet to satisfy myself that the point of aim is precisely the same from one reticle to another. It _may_ be, but I'm not 100% on this yet. There is also some innapropriate LED reflection inside the scope under some lighting conditions, but it's not all that big a deal.

Received my sight ...

Received my sight yesterday and mounted it to a Ruger Mk 2 pistol. Generally it performed as advertised, however, the crosshair reticle and the dot/circle reticle are not aligned with the vertical and horizontal axis of the scope body (i.e. they are canted). I considered sending it to Bushnell but don't think another $10 for shipping and handling is appropriate for a defective product repair. Otherwise, the two dot sizes are really useful. I would like to see this scope with 3 dot sizes. Sure I could cant the scope to align the crosshairs but then the windage and elevation adjustments would be off. 3 stars.

I put one of these on a Bushmaster M17 and it works very well. It is compact and allows for quick target aquisition without difficulty. For the price, it is a great value for a red dot scope.
