Carb-out works quickly and safely to remove carbon build-up.Even after 110 rounds of .308 through my Bartlein barrel
carb-out removes every ounce of carbon, even at the throat.I know because I bore scope my barrel after every shooting session.

Had been using Hoppe's 9 ...

Had been using Hoppe's 9 and kept seeing carbon in the patches. Tried this and it seems to work better. More black on the patch even after I went through with Hoppe's.Only problem is the picture shows the non-aerosol product which I wanted but what I got was the aerosol product which the description says it is. Even the aerosol is good enough, I just wet the patch with it and push it through.

Carb-Out works well at ...

Carb-Out works well at removing carbon. However, carbon deposits can vary tremendously in how difficult they are to remove. The heat and pressure from firing extremely overbore wildcats without allowing the barrel to cool or without frequent cleaning (every twenty rounds) can lay down peculiar carbon deposits that only can be lapped out or in extreme cases cut out with tooling. Remember, with enough heat and pressure, carbon can change into an number of things including graphite and diamonds. For moderately difficult to remove deposits, a bronze brush will work well in conjunction with Carb-Out. In addition to the advertised functions, this product is an effective bullet jacket fouling remover. It gets a lot of green off of a bronze brush in a matter of minutes. Carb-Out will turn brown after a day or more of being exposed to the air or light, which is probably why it is not sold in a bottle which will allow air into the product. I noted this phenomena where a little spillage was left on my reloading table. According to the distributor, this does not affect its ability to protect against corrosion or remove carbon. So don't be alarmed if, after Carb-Out has been in your barrel for a day or longer, you get brown when patching out your barrel prior to shooting. I am very pleased with this product not only because it gets carbon out quickly but because it is a good long term storage solution, offering corrosion protector while it continues to work on both carbon and bullet jacket material. Automotive carbon removal chemicals probably do not do these last three things.
