I usually don't write reviews but this product begs for one. I have an original 1911 mfg 1919 that is unmodified. It was my grand dads from ww1. I do shoot it but the HAMMER BITE WAS UN PLEASENT. Tried other "drop ins",namely Wilson. They don't drop in and require commander hammers. This arrived this a/m. I timed the install. It took 7 minutes. A true drop in part. It is not a wide new age safety, does use stock hammer and no more hammer bite. It actually looks like the original, not some big wide fat piece of metal. It's finish is flat and goes well with this original 1919, 1911 colt. If you want a true drop in for an original colt 1911 this is it. No mods, no problem, it simply fits and does the job it is intended to do. Stop the hammer bite. Excellent part.

This also fits the Series 80 without filing the tab down. Drops in without fitting (MkIV Series 80) on Colt guns, probably becasue it is an OEM Colt part.

Part fit without any ...

Part fit without any problems on a 70 series Colt Gold Cup. It looked less "blue" (more black) than the original but after oiling it matched very nicely.
