Product Information

Designed for volume production, the Lee 6-Cavity Bullet Mold blocks are machined from commercial quality aluminum and feature steel bushing and alignment pins. Lee mold blocks are machined from aluminum blocks making them rust resistant. Aluminum molds heat up and cool down faster than iron or steel molds so good bullets can usually be produced after only a few casts. In addition, they are one-third the weight of iron or steel mold blocks for less fatigue during extended casting sessions. To ensure the best possible bullets, mold block halves are CNC machined for unmatched roundness and size control. Lee 6-Cavity molds come with a cam operated, hard-anodized sprue plate which is held tightly with tempered spring washers at each end. Weights given are Lee's weights with suggested alloy; actual weight may vary due to alloy mixture used. Handles ARE NOT included (#117-892).

Great mold! I have 11 lee molds and like the others, this one works great. I use the Frankfort mold release spray on it and on both sides of the sprue cutter. The bullets drop out every time and sprue plugs never stick. Makes a great shooting bullet for the 45acp. Also very consistent weights in all cavities. If you are looking for a problem free 45 bullet (no feeding problems) and as accurate as fmj bullets, this is it.

I ordered one and it was producing .456 to .457 bullets, which was way too big. Midway exchanged one for another. This one is a little better, but they are still coming out to be .455 to.457 in size. This too big for my liking, because I dont think I should have to size if the mold was doing its job. My lee 401-175-tc is amazing, and I dont have to size those. Everything else on the mold is nice, just makes oversized bullets.

Yet another great product for Lee. I was not too sure of the quality of this mold until I started to use it. If you warm them up first and run the lead a little hotter they work great. I have order more of them and will do so again.

I purchased this mold and love it. Mine casts a .454 size bullet and is very consistent. make sure you follow Lee's instuctions and lube the mold before you use it or you could ruin it. Once you start heating it, add some Alox stick lube to the pins and top plate and you will not have any problems. I also size all cast bullets, even the ones that may seem like they don't need it. Anyways, this is a great mold! 5 stars.

As others have stated, the bullets from the mold look great, but they are too large. by the time its sized the grooves in the bullet are nearly gone on some. I ended up recycling a good two thirds of my work. that and the bearing surface is very long, if I wasn't careful with the bullets loaded, the long surface would jam into the rifling and cause my 1911 to not fully go into battery. Im sure if the bullets weren't so large, they'd make a great bullet for a revolver, but my auto did not like them. I didn't give Lee a chance to fix it or send me another mold, I bought a Lyman 4 cavity mold and it casts perfect bullets every time.

I bought this Lee Mold and within the first hour of use the spur cutter handle broke. so I returned it and received a free replacement, this one lasted little while longer. This mold makes great looking bullets, and I was able to make 1000 rounds before the quality went down. I would not recommend this product to anyone, unless your goal is to make less than 1000 rounds... DO NOT BUY UNTIL LEE IMPROVES MOLDS.

This has been my go-to mold for 45 ACP when unsure of feeding and reliability in a gun I haven't had time to do any load development. I can sit down with this mold can cast a ton of bullets. Bullets come out about .456 with WW alloy and are very consistent. I did notice that you have to keep your pot hot and cast fairly rapidly. The only problem Ive had is keeping the pot full and waiting for it to come to temperature after adding ingots. These shoot very well in my Gold Cup, but had to load them a little short (OAL) for my Taurus PT145. They feed very reliably in everything thing Ive run them through. As always, Lee Precision and Midway provide great quality, fast shipping, at a reasonable price.

Great mold. Very easy to use and drops good bullets in only 2 tries after proper prep / warm-up. Bullet is very accurate in 45 ACP fired in a Kimber - 3 rounds into 1.5" at 25 yds. Also no FTF. I wanted to use this bullet in my 45 Winchester Mag Wildey but having no gas check groove it was not possible. After some experiments, I was able to put a gas check groove on this bullet using my Hornady Bullet Puller with the 0.451 collet. I inserted about 1/8" of the bullet bottom driving band into the collet. I adjusted the puller action to size down the bullet just enough so I could insert the gas check by hand. After this, I crimped the gas check with my Lyman gas check seater. Finally, I lube it like the usual. I find that I can fire the gas checked bullet to about 1,700 fps in my wildey w/o leading problems. Great!!

I have several Lee six cav moulds and this is one of the best, I spray with Frankford release and cast. It drops without hang-ups. bullets load without sizing in my pt11 Taurus but have to be sized for my commander and Springfield. I tumble lube with Lee liquid Alox.

I'm a beginner at casting and found the Lee moulds to be very forgiving.. The bullets it throws are ready to shoot and need not be sized...I would recommend this mould.

Functionally a great mold, you can cast a lot of beautiful bullets in no time at all. But, as noted by others, this bullet will not chamber in my Colt 1911, it jams in the chamber. The ogive starts to far forward on the bullets profile.
