I purchased this as a compromise between a general use hatchet/tomahawk and a throwing tomahawk. As a thrower, this thing excels! It is easy to stick this into a log with very little practice. As a general use tomahawk, this has proven to be very useful on hikes/ camping trips. It makes cutting and trimming branches much easier. The grip is quite comfortable, although I was a little concerned at first because the G-10 stops about 1/8" short of the steel on both front and back. The sheath is cordura nylon with a retention strap that runs through the split handle and is very secure. I have mine strapped to the side of my backpack, which is working well, so far. The blade was originally razor sharp, but repeated throwing has dulled it considerably. I have no doubt that it will be easily sharpened. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a tomahawk that doesn't use breakable wood handles.
