This is an excellent wrench, though it wold be difficult to make a poor one. The one star rating is so funny I had to post a true analysis. Someone tell that guy not to point his loaded gun at himself and pull the trigger either. Every spring wrench works the same and every spring is under pressure when you release it. It will obviously hit you if you dont take the necessary precautions.

Simply a piece of junk. It lets the recoil spring and plug fly out at you. It comes with every gun, but if you are missing it, don't bother replacing it. It's a safety nightmare. I got smacked in the lip hard because of this. Kimber should make the side with the hole larger around and textured so it can't fly off at you.

This wrench fits all my 1911s of all brands. It is thick so I don't think it will ever wear out if you keep the gun solvent off of it. Never point the gun at your lips when you take down a 1911, I clean a lot of them and the recoil spring plug is bound to slip out a time or two no matter how much practice you've had.

This wrench is an essential accessory for anyone who has a 1911 handgun. It is made out of an extremely hard, durable plastic and it should provide a lifetime of reliable service. I have used it to remove a tough bushing, from a dry gun (one with no lubrication) without any visble marring on the tool or gun.

Perfect for the 1911 bushing. It's hard plastic so it doesn't scratch or mar anything. Just remember the guide spring is under serious tension so don't let it pop out and smack you in the face.

Overall, a good wrench. A little bit slippery in that, you have to make sure the wrench is not tipped when you turn it, or it will slip off. Won't mar the gun's finish and, although I don't take my Kimber down everytime I shoot it, so far the wrench is holding up.

Excellent wrench for the following reasons: It will not scar up your gun. It is light and will not rust. It is thick enough so it will not bend unless you stand on it. It is a perfect fit for my two Colts and my S&W 1911 Gunite. I keep one with each gun.

This is a fine wrench. The plastic on this wrench is harder than the plastic used on some wrenches I've come across which is nice it doesn't get buggered up on tight bushings. It's also a little shorter than some wrenches so it' more portable. Wish it was some other color though... It's just hard to find a black wrench at the bottom of my range bag some days.

Just bought a used Kimber 10mm. This tool was in the box and is the same type I've had for 35 years, works as well as the original. This is a great simple tool to get your 1911 apart and back together same as has been used for a hundred years now!!!

Much better than the wrench I got with my Series 70 Colt. Like the previous reviewer I have to wonder at someone who lets himself get hit in the face with the recoil spring. Since all it takes is a little common sense, and reading your owner's manual, to use the wrench correctly I wonder if some people should not even be using a semi-auto.
