I just got these for the "cups" as I already have numerous QD swivels, but I still expected more from Uncle Mike's; one of the two included swivels I got won't engage/latch properly either. My advice: this type of swivel can be flakey so make real sure you only use "good" ones.

Recently had my machinist put a set of these on my new ruger hawkeye 7mm-08. After getting my stock back, I went to put the swivels in the cups, and the rear would not snap into place, pulled right back out. Seems the tooling on these are not kept in tolerence. MidwayUSA gladly is sending me a new set..Thats why I shop MidwayUSA, their customer service is great.

I have used these sling mounts on several target rifles and have found them easy to install and use at the range. The flush mount also makes this a flat surface while resting bags at the range and for cleaning. The main draw back is the 1" loop. A 1 1/4" loop would better suit target slings.

I had the same problem with the snap coming undone.The weight of the rifle will cause the sling to come off. But only one of the pair is faulty. Poor machining looks to be the cause. Not safe at all.

I purchased a pair of these swivels and am very displeased. A light to moderate tug on the swivel causes it to pop free of the socket. I have purchased this type of swivel from another manufacturer in the past and was very happy with them. I needed some more and these Uncle Mike's units were readily available so I ordered them. Would be unfortunate if someone dropped, scuffed, dented or DISCHARGED an expensive rifle because of these.In a word... WORTHLESS!

I'm wondering if James had too thick of sling??I've never had any trouble with these, but I use nylon "sporter" air rifle type slings ... 1-1/4" loops are avail from outfits such as champions choice which work with the sockets

Although these do work I am a little dissapointed by the irregular machining on them. A few of them that I have purchased have gouges on the inside that look to be caused by not clearing chips in the manufacuturing process. This is the problem that James Smith ran into. Some of them need to be worked repeatedly to be 'broken in' before they are dependable.
