This single stage press has a rigid, cast iron "O" frame with an attractive baked powder finish, large opening and 4" ram stroke. It features powerful steel compound linkage with travel stop to prevent "cam-over". Also features automatic primer arm with bottom of stroke priming and a large 1-1/8" diameter ram. Includes small and large primer cups. Accepts both standard 7/8"-14 threaded dies and the larger 1-1/4"-12 threaded dies when the 7/8"-14 thread adapter is removed. Adjustable for right or left hand use.

I wanted to gift myself with a Rock Chucker or Redding Big Boss but my son beat me to it and gave me this press. I was highly skeptical with any Lee Press but after opening the box I started to develop a liking for this press. The body is cast iron and has larger opening than the Redding Big Boss. I load 375 H&H and some 300 Wby Mag and I find the press handles these long cases no problem. The springing I experienced with Lee's turret press is virtually absent in this Classic press. It's solid and rigid all the way and very capable of full length sizing my 375 H&H's. Moreover, the ram is 1/8" thicker than the Rock chucker's contributing further to its strength. Primer catcher is an idea borrowed from the Redding Ultramag where primers run down a hollow ram, out the other end to a tubing, then to a collection bottle or trash can. I think this press is the one of the best presses in the market today. It has all the best features I want and the cost - well about half that of equivalent brands w/ lesser features. I'm keeping this press and hope Lee continues to produce strong tools. The Lee Classic is fine press by any measure.

If you are in the market for a single stage press, this one is definitely the best bang for your buck. Solid cast iron and all steel parts makes this one of the most durable presses on the market. I currently reload .380, .38, 45ACP, 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R ( I know the last two calibers are rather cheap in surplus, but I still enjoy reloading them). This press makes easy work in reloading all of these with little effort.I also use a mix of RCBS, Hornady, and Lee dies in this press with no problems. Probably the only negative thing about this press is the lack of additional accessories that can attach to the press. Hardly an issue for me though. Highly recommend this press to anyone from the beginner or veteran reloader.

My RCBS partner press just couldn't resize some of my larger rifle brass, just way to much flex so started reading all the reviews for a larger press and got the LEE.Wow great press, Made in a America, made better than the overpriced RCBS presses, very happy.

You will not find a better press at any price. I replaced a 45 year old Pacific press (Hornady bought them out years ago) with this Cast Iron Lee Classic press. I load 17 different calibers with it with no problems... everything from 9mm to .45-70 including .223, .30-06, .306, 8mm, and a bunch of others. I mostly use RCBS dies on this press. I have moved on to a Lee classic cast press for my high volume pistol requirements just because it is faster. The linkage is strong and smooth, the ram is straight and true. The primer catch system is flawless once you learn the secret...for those of you who have this thing drop a few primers out of the slot...ALWAYS KEEP THE PRIMER CUP ARM IN THE RAM WHEN YOU ARE REMOVING PRIMERS AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ONE ESCAPE. That will take care of the one problem that some folks seem to have with the primer removal system since the slot in the ram won't be open for the dead guys to sneak out.

Like most of the reviews, I am very satisfied. The press is much better than I had anticipated. I have an old RCBS unit that is just plain wore out after many thousands of rounds. I have always thought that the RCBS press was very good, but this Lee unit is slickest I have ever used. I don't understand the complaints listed below. It was a bit dirty from the manufacturing process, but cleaner than most new firearms that I have purchased. Having to clean and oil it is something that's just a matter of course. The press is beefy, smooth as butter and will size a 45-70 casing with no effort. A great product.

The best press I've used, but not perfect! In 2009 I purchased this press and have been using it off and on since. This thing is built like a Sherman Tank! Heavier than it needs to be, you lose a certain amount of feel due to its mass, but it will probably last a lifetime. The on press primer feed has been a point of contention since mounting the press. If you choose to remove the lever, the used primers will fall on the floor instead of going down the tube. I solved this problem by removing the primer cup and stem sub-assembly by breaking it off with a pair of pliers while holding the primer lever in a padded vise. I then used a grinder to clean up the remaining burr. Problem solved!!! It only took me two years to figure this out. If you prime off the press like I do, this tip will save you some aggravation. I also lock-tited the 7/8" insert as it came loose. Over all great press. Just understand Lee does everything a little bit differently. Your mileage my vary.

I got tiered of single siding my Dillon 550 so I picked up this Lee cast press, When I seen the price I thought there must be something wrong with it. But after some research I pulled the trigger so to speak.Great press for the money. I would have to say it would be a great press even at twice the money.

I have had this press for slightly over 2 years now. I use it resizing 308, 223 and 8mm Mauser JS. The mechanical advantage makes resizing these rifle cases as easy as doing 38 specials. Maintenance is simple, clean it once in a while, lubricate the ram and the joints and remember to empty the spent primers from the can at the end of the tube.

A most excellent tool! It is big, strong, and smooth as silk. Had to remove the priming device and closed the opening with a piece of a lead pencil - a perfect fit. I give it 5 stars because Midway doesn't accept 6.
