Good idea, but how do you use it?

I purchased these for my .223 caliber firearm. Don't know if I messed up when ordering or midway(it was probably me). I have a firearm that these could be useful for so I did not return them. As my title states these chamber maids are a great idea but with out a special tool or rod to go into the large hole in the center of the chamber maid they are useless.
