Here's what you need to know: You should have a CHINESE AK47. My Norinco was imported during the Clinton Regime-So no threaded barrel. This fit perfectly- for an AK(a little tight)-all AK's are slightly different, even the same models will have some variances. If you can't use a file or a Dremel- you should own an AR15 or leave it alone. If you have a neutered AK, this will help a lot. The actual braking function is very effective as with all of the '74 style brakes.

Works GREAT!!!!! I had to drill out the front sight pin on my MAK90 to get it installed but other than that it was a very easy install.

I give it four stars because it was kind of aggravating to pin in place...Put on my old MAK 90 and it worked fine. I'm a firm believer in the 74 type brake, because I've had one on every AK I've owned and they do reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise. NOT fun to stand to the side of someone else busting rounds with one of these... But, the product itself does its job very well.I would've given it 5 stars if the pin that came with it didn't bend when pressing it in. Used a pin that I got from who knows where and works fine, even after 2500 rounds.

This is more of a warning than a review. Figured this brake would fit most AKs but it doesn't. It did not fit on my Romanian WASR-10 AK. Can't comment on whether or not it reduces muzzle climb but it is built sturdy and looks good.

Unless your AK barrel is ...

Unless your AK barrel is very small, it will not work with your rifle.Pin-on brakes are known to fly off and possibly take the front sight block as well.Don't buy it.

This fit right on to my MAK-91, but the pin was a fraction of an inch too small and needs to be pushed back into place during the course of the day. A larger pin will fix the problem.Minimal affect on felt recoil.

Will not work with front ...

Will not work with front site that has the provisions for a cleaning rod, (Romanian SAR-1 for instance), unless said provisions are taken off.Once I had worked my front site so this would fit, it made a HUGE difference in muzzle climb during rapid fire.This added a couple of inches to overall length and I will never fire my 7.62 again without some kind of brake/compensator.
