This recoil pad was too great of a deal to pass up. Most online AR-15 parts vendors are selling the SAME pad for 4-5 times more (even has the same US stamp design).It increases the length by about 0.5" but it provides a grippier surface and reduces whatever recoil there is with .223/5.56N on a 6-10 lb rifle.I figured that if I did not like it, it only cost me a few bucks.

I really want to like this recoil pad. The thing is, it is hard rubber and provides little recoil protection (not that you really need it for .223). It also stinks to high heaven. I put it in an unused upstairs closet to outgas for a month or two to make it usable. It does fit snugly on my Stag Model 3, but I do not have much confidence it would stand up to a lot of action. SWAT team members and similar may want to look for something with a more secure attachment mechanism. All that said, it does look good and does give me the extra 1/2" length of pull I was looking for. I should work well for a weekend warrior like me.

I was a little doubtful when I slippled this pad over the buttplate on my AR-15 adjustable stock but the pad did everything I wanted. It has stayed in place w/no problem and provides just the right amount of padding and surface friction and is much easier on my shoulder than the hard serrated OEM plate.

Just received this pad. It smells as others have said, but most noticeable is that the pad is very hard. It is just a solid chunk of rubber. I do not recomend this pad if you are looking for something to help absorb recoil.

This product fits perfectly. The only problem is that it smells like a skunk-sprayed dog. This smell is unique to chinese products. Instead of 'made in china' the product is labeled 'may be assembled from domestic and imported components'. I say it's 100% chinese rubber. I have nothing against chinese products, just the awful smell of their rubber. The price was so good, I will just toss it if I cannot get rid of the smell.

Once again, another great product at a great price from Midway. Fits like a glove on my S&W MP15 with 6 pos adj stock. Plastic is very hard, it'd be nice if it were a bit softer but that's just me being picky, designed to last.

Under scrapes and hard ...

Under scrapes and hard exposure it would snag off easily. There are two retaining tabs not shown" which are of this rubber material and work fine in low exposure situations I'm sure. Deep woods hunting etc, bring duct table. CON: I have a personal issue with this product most won't have. It's made of rubber, very much like composite tire rubber. The package states maybe made of recycled materials. The out-gassing from this material is overwhelming. When I took it from the package it was slick with mold agents which I washed off and still this thing stank to high heaven. I mean stank like a tire shoved up your nose! Perhaps in a year or so it might calm down, but I have to ask, are any of you other guys okay with this? For me, it's going to the garage. I give this thing mid marks because it does what it is supposed to do and at the price, many will be okay, but for my money I'm going to Magpul! If you are allergic to latex, take a pass.

Have this pad on my DPMS AR15 and my Remington 870 with the ProMag buttstock. Absolutely love it on both,and it helps on the Remington's recoil. Nothing better than a product that is inexpensive and very effective.Great job, ProMag !

I have over 10 of these stock pads. Does not add much in length, adds some protection to the stock and add just the right amount of slippage and grippage when shouldered. I did find that adding one black cable tie helps retain the pad in place... looping it around the middle of the pad and thru the horizontal sling slot holds this pad on tight... no more falling off (yes it happened to me ONCE on a trail, at night..never again). Cable tie does not interfer with anything if done right. I recommend this product to anyone with a standard M4 style buttstock.

Fits great, it's inexpensive, it's soft, I love it. I cannot believe it fits and feels as good as it does for the price. Yeah, I know it's not much to it, but it's a lot cheaper than a lot of the competitors and looks better too. Installed on a standard DPMS 6-position stock and it looks like it came on it. No complaints. Buy with confidence.
