I purchased one of these headlamps for getting to my deer-hunting tree without having to carry a flashlight and, after using it this season, I wish I had bought one years ago. It is comfortable on one's head, provides an adequate amount of light to see 25 yards in front of you and it sure is nice freeing up one's flashlight hand. The low beam provides an adequate amount of light - the high beam is a little brighter, but not enough to justify the shortened battery life, IMO. And I also like that it uses readily-availble AAA batteries. My only complaint with this light is that the On/Off button is difficult to use when one is wearing gloves.

I have used this headlamp ...

I have used this headlamp for 3 years now and for the price it can not be beat! It cast a good light 25 to 30 yards in front of you. I hunt year round and just switched out the batteries following this last whitetail season because it had faded to about half the normal brightness. I have been in the rain and in temps down to 20 and it has continued to perform well. I do have to agree with the comment above about the gloves but here in Texas that is not an issue all that often. This headlamp outperforms my buddies expensive Petzl on battery life and on the concentration of the light.
