Product Information

The bullet that started the company, Nosler Partition Bullets feature a fully tapered jacket that ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet's axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high or low velocities.

Nosler's integral Partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration. The special crimp locks in the rear core section, adding strength to resist deformation under the pressure of heavy magnums. This is not loaded ammunition.

I have used these in a Model 70 in 270 Winchester in front of IMR-4350 and average .50" groups at 100 yards. I watched a friend kill a 160" mulie at 293 yards with one well placed shot in the shoulder using this rifle. The bullet went through both shoulders and the buck hit the ground like a bolt of lighting had struck it. I believe this combo, when used for mulies and antelope, would not let anyone down!

I have used these bullets for many years and have taken game from 50 yd to 350 yd and it has not left the place it was standing the rest of my 270 bullets sit unused and untried I just bought 3 more boxes

I've used these for years and they are an excellent bullet that is very accurate and performs well on whitetails. If they would make a plastic tip on them to prevent tip deformation in the magazine at recoil they would be perfect. The few that I have recovered usually retained about 70% of their weight.

This has been a fabulous bullet for my .270 Win. It has combined accuracy with excellent effects on the target. Prior to the fall season, I had narrowed my choice to either the Partition or the Failsafe, loaded both, and found the Nosler to be so accurate that it became my bullet of choice. Its effects on a deer at 40 yards was outstanding. Even at a short range the bullet performed perfectly. My worries about bullet failure at short range were without merit. In short, the 130 grain Partition is my deer round of choice.

This is an incredible bullet. The high ballistic coefficient allows great performance at long range. The bullets are very accurate with the usual grouping of one inch or less in my rifles. I have taken more than ten African antelope with this bullet and it has never failed. This bullet even handles the "Texas heart shot" very well due to its ability to penetrate deeply. This is my choice for collecting museum specimens due to the fact that it normally has a small entry hole, great internal damage to vital organs and a smaller exit hole, thereby saving the skin.

Used on deer in 270wsm (I know too much club but my deer rifle had a dead scope). I made a neck shot at 85 yds, it was a bang flop! This is the most accurate bullet I have tested to date. It shoots 1/2in at 100 yds all day.

Deep penetration and excellent expansion. Since I have started using Nosler Partion bullets I haven't lost a deer. Penetrating through the animal leaving good blood trail, if they didn't drop in their tracks!

I am a Handloader; ...

I am a Handloader; however, I don't currently own/shoot this caliber but I do load for it. I loaded my friend a box (50 rds.) for his 270 (I don't remember the load but I do believe it was -1gr off the max load for Hodgdon Powder in the latest Lee reloading manual, and .10" off the lands with using a Lee Factory Crimp Die). He constantly groups 1/2 inch groups @ 100 yds and has taken a beautiful buck every year in NEPA. He's still shooting his original 50 rds since he only takes 3 sight in shots every year with his Ruger M77 and only 1 shot each season (which always takes a nice deer). (I loaded his bullets in 2003 and he still has 23 rds left, he'll have 22 after he takes another buck in the '09 season). These are the most accurate bullets I have ever loaded and I load for .308, 30-06, 7mm RUM, 300 Win Mag, .223, and .222, but the accuracy of the Nosler 130gr Partition in the .270 is unbelievable. I think I will start using Nosler Partitions in my other loads.

Loaded with RL 22 or ...

Loaded with RL 22 or H-4831 in my .270 WCF, this has been my standard deer and wild hog load for 30 years. Only recovered one from deer shot at over 300 yards, and then just under hide on far side. I have also used the 150 grain partitions, but the 130's really seem to do just as well on deer. A great bullet that shoots good in all my rifles, unlike the Barnes X, which is very finiky.
