The Dual Action Outdoorsman holster is great for field carry whether hunting or for peace of mind in bear country.

The DAO™ can be worn strong side or crossdraw at the user's discretion. The holster employs a retention strap for simplicity and security in the brush. The retention strap has a large polymer tab to aid in snapping and unsnapping with a gloved hand. Tension screw adjustments allow for a custom fit to your revolver.

Constructed of premium saddle leather, the DAO fits belts up to 1-3/4".

Made for double-action revolvers and some semiautomatic pistols, the Dual Action Outdoorsman is available in right and left hand designs in tan.

I switched from Nylon and ...

I switched from Nylon and Kydex to leather with this holster. I have to say this holster is well constructed.I put my early model Judge in this holster prior to reading the instructions and it was a tight fit. I followed the included instructions on how to break the holster in by hand and it took me less than five minutes. The holster's strap actually sits where its suppose to on the revolver, a problem which I have had trouble with cheaper holsters in the past and the acclaimed tab from the product description is fantastic touch.The holster sits high and close to my body with the front of the trigger guard sitting about the top of my belt.The holster mounted on my left does not allow much cant for cross draw with my 1.250" belt. and sits relatively strait up and down. A thinner narrower belt may help.The only reason I did not give 5 stars is based on personal preference against a design characteristic that seams to plague ALL of the holster manufactures: The inside of the holster has split grain of the leather against the pistol instead of a thinner piece of leather reversed to as to have the smooth side against the pistol. Not that big of a deal, I will just have to take a bit more time cleaning the inside of the holster to reduce holster wear. the barrel end of the holster is open to aid in cleaning. This isn't a big problem for most folks.I am satisfied with this holster.
