Butch's Bore Shine Bore Cleaning Solvent was created by a competitive benchrest shooter. Butch's Bore Shine Bore Cleaning Solvent is a next-generation non-abrasive chemical solvent. When used properly and regularly, it removes all forms of bore fouling, including copper, carbon buildup, lead, wax and even plastic from shotgun wads with very little effort. Recommended by both the Lilja and Douglas rifle barrel companies. This formula is safe to use on carbon and stainless barrels. This is the closest thing to a one-step cleaning technique available.

I have a Ruger 44 mag ...

I have a Ruger 44 mag Super Redhawk. As you know when using lead load's you get a build up of lead in the cylinder. I had a hard time getting it cleaned out. After using a few differant cleaners, no luck. After reading some review's on Buche's Bore Shine, and Kano Kroil oil, I gave them a try. Problem solved. When mixing the two it work's great. Well to further test it out, I pulled out my shotguns, and rifles too. They were cleaned and put up, so I thought. I used the Butche's Bore Shine, and Kano Kroil oil on them, and was shocked to see they were not as clean as I thought. Unbelieveable! Give the two together a try, what a differance it makes. And also take's less time to clean to.

This product works really ...

This product works really well on all types of fouling including copper, leaves my barrels with a mirror bright shine. Only problem I have with this product is that it has a very strong odor like no other solvent I've ever used, be sure you are in a very well ventilated area when you use this.

Butch's without a doubt ...

Butch's without a doubt will clean your bore. I cleaned my "clean" bore based on another bore cleaner - it took another 30 patches before i got all the stuff out! Butch's bore shine's main ingredient is Naptha - otherwise known as "JET FUEL". My local electric company uses the same stuff to power the power plant. Petroleum distillates including naptha contain BENZENE - it is a known CARCINOGEN - long-term benzene exposure causes effects on the bone marrow and can cause anemia and leukemia. WEAR GLOVE WHEN USING THIS OR ANY OTHER "Petroleum based" product (which is almost all of gun solvents on the market!). Simple latex gloves are not enough - make sure to the the blue surgical type if you want to be safe. Other than that Butch's is highly recommended

Based on the reviews posted here, I allowed a very badly fouled barrel to soak with Butch's for a couple hours. While it did do a good job of cleaning, I noticed that it had eaten into the blueing around the action. The spot affected was not down to bare metal, but all luster was gone! Also, I am no longer prepared to say that it is not necessary to use a brush. While cleaning my 204 Ruger after about 100 shots, I noticed it did nothing to remove the copper. I decided to use my brush and subsequent patches came out almost solid blue. I still think it is a very good product, but not a miracle. Also, I would use the product and then get it the heck out of the bore immediately!

I tried Butch's after ...

I tried Butch's after reading the reviews of others. I had a stubborn fouling in my Taurus 85. After a couple rounds of brushing and patching, the barrel shined like a mirror. I was speechless and threw the stuff I was using previously away. Don't know why I hadnt tried it before.

One word can describe ...

One word can describe this product. WOW! I have several firearms that cost good sums of hard earned dollars. Some that I have built for benchrest shooting others that are hunting rifles. Just finished cleaning my 700 BDL VLS. When I started, I thought the weapon was clean. Have tried every type of foam, Hoppes 9, Otis, You name it I have tried it. First I ran four or five patches soaked in Kano Kroil oil. With a couple moments of time between each patch. Then I used this Butch's Bore shine. You would have thought someone was using my barrel too make pennies. So much barrel foul and copper were coming out. This stuff has ammonia in it, so after I finished I ran a patch with some Otis gun oil on it. My barrel looks show room new. No need to waste anymore money. I have found the answer with "Kano Kroil" and Butch's Bore Shine...
