Comments about DPMS Crush Washer LR-308:

This washer is much larger than the stock washer on my RRA LAR-8. Inner diameter is fine, but outer diameter is 0.88" and max thickness is 0.18". RRA stock washer is 0.10" thick and 0.81" outer diameter. The washer is serving only as a spacer for the YHM thread protector, so it's not really an issue for me, but for those who have a 0.750" barrel and want clean lines, this is not the washer for you.

Comments about DPMS Crush Washer LR-308:

I have used many different types of crush washers on several different things (cars, guns, etc). I have never seen one that appeared to be made of hardened steel like this one. All other crush washers were steel/aluminum/steel sandwich or solid aluminum or solid copper/brass. Tightening and loosening in stages does not work with this washer. You will need a file if you need to compress more than 1/8 - 1/4 of a turn. If you do file, take tiny amounts off at a time and check on the gun. The good news is that if you ever do get this washer to the right thickness, you can tighten the heck out of your compensator/suppressor/flash hider without "over doing it" and the washer will last forever.

Crushes easily. Proper installation only requires 30ft lbs but must be torqued in steps as with any crush washer. Torque, unscrew, torque, unscrew, torque unscrew. Each step will advance "crush" the washer a little further. This method will achieve greater than a 360 degree turn without over torquing.

This crush washer is too ...

Comments about DPMS Crush Washer LR-308:

This crush washer is too hard to compress from my experience. I had to apply well over 80 foot lbs to get it to compress past the initial 1/4 turn. I had to remove metal on the thicker side to get it to work. The Yankee Hill crush washer works much better and does not require excessive force to compress it.
