Product Information

Bold Triggers are the ideal choice for performance and value, they are precision machined, feature a hardened and polished sear, and include a high alloy CNC machined trigger. The Optima features a side safety (stock inletting may be required) and comes pre-set at 3 lbs but is adjustable from 2 to 4 lbs. This trigger also features an adjustable sear engagement screw and overtravel stop screw. Fits Large ring Mausers including 1909 Argentine, 1908 Brazilian, Browning Fn, Centurion Fn, 1910 Husqvarna, Magnum Fn, Musketeer, Parker Hale 1200, 98 Persian, 1909 & 1935 Peruvian, Santa Barbara, Sako, 1903 Turkish, and 1938 Turkish 8mm. Requires fitting and installation by a qualified gunsmith.

trigger works great goes ...

trigger works great goes down to 12oz. on my 6mm/06 ack. Imp.I'm not saying they all will set this low but this one did and it is very crisp!!

Drop-in fit on M-48 ...

Drop-in fit on M-48 action. No modifications required to action/cocking sear. Clean crisp letoff but it seems to have greater than 4 # pull weight. In process of measuring this to check. Safety operates similar to factory safety on Interarms Mark X mausers, (rear position = safe, push forward to fire). Safety lever does protrude laterally more than e.g. Mark X safety implying that more stock removal will be neccessary. Have yet to stock this action.

Drop in fit on my WWII K98. Had to relieve the trigger guard and stock slightly with a Dremel but took no other modifications.

This trigger was a drop-in fit on my sporterized VZ-24. Nice crisp letoff with virtually no creep or overtravel. Can't wait to try it out on deer. Great deal for the money! Would definitely buy another one.

TRICKY INSTALLATION on ...

TRICKY INSTALLATION on Turkish Mausers! The bottom of the safety mechanism, where it is bolted on, just above the trigger, rubs against the trigger guard where it fits up into the stock. The result is that it somehow torques the Optima mechanism and will only let you fire once, then it will not reset. Unfortuntely I initially diagnosed this as the safety mechanism, which is little more than sheet metal, somehow mysteriously rubbing against something that I couldn't grind away inside the wooden stock. After removing almost too much stock I fitted the receiver to the trigger guard without the stock and the issue was made clear. Remounted the Dremel with a metal grinding bit and cleared about 1/32" away from where the safety was extending into the trigger guard. Now it works great. Fine, generic trigger at a low price that cannot be expected to perfectly fit every version of the 98. Be sure to check for contact between the safety "plate" and your trigger guard if you are having trouble.

Oh my gosh !!! This trigger is one of the best affordable upgrades for your rifle. I was a big fan of the Timney Sportsman Triggers for my sporterized mausers. Until I tried one of these Bold Optima's. Installation was simple, and no adjustments were needed. And my friends at the shooting range were very impressed with the trigger pull. Another great product from Midway. Thanks

Installed it on M48A Yugo Mauser. I had to lengthen the cocking piece because when cocked, it wasn't back far enough to operate the 3 position safety on the bolt. Also had to trim the bolt shroud to clear the safety lever. Had to inlet the stock to operate the safety. Not a drop in trigger, but very easy to install by anyone that is a little bit handy. I have mine set at 3lbs. on my custom 8mm-338 Win. Mag. it pulls crisp and clean. I highly recommend this trigger

Recently installed on a CZ Mauser. Required some grinding on the bolt shroud, inletting on Boyd's Walnut stock, and relief in trigger gaurd. No other modifications necessary and installed actual trigger in minutes. Excellent trigger action, no creep, smooth #3 pull. Would highly recommend this product!
