This die sizes only the neck to preserve the perfect fit of fire forming. A collet squeezes the case neck against a precision mandrel for a perfect bullet fit with minimum run-out. No case lube is needed. Cases last about 10 times longer. Only reload cases that have been fired in you firearm. Not recommended for autoloaders, slide or lever action guns.

I got this Lee Collet size die in 30-06 the same time as I got one in .223. After reading the reviews, I was worried that I would blow the top off the die like some others have done. I adjusted the die, and started sizing cases, but when I tried seating bullets, the case wouldn't hold the bullet tight enough. I read the instructions some more, and tried adjusting the die up and down to see if I could get it tight enough. It looks to me like the adjustment is the key. Too far one way, and it won't make the case mouth small enough, to far the other, and the mechanical advantage of the press will blow the top off the die and strip the threads. After playing with the adjustment for a while, I found the right place in the middle, and now this die works just fine for me. I have been using this die for quite a few months now, and it has tightened up the groups on my Ruger M77 MK2 from about 3 inches at 100 yards to about 1 1/2 inch at 100 yards. I am happy with this die, but it took me a while to get it adjusted correctly.

JUNK! received the neck sizer die with cap loose so i tried to turn it and it was full of metal shavings. cap would not even hold half the pressure of sizing up brass. sending back to exchange for RCBS die, should of listened to my buddy who told me to avoid lee rifle dies.

Have used with great results. It does not take a lot of pressure or effort. These dies DO NOT create a lot a neck tension and they works great with jacketed and one needs to experiment with cast bullets. Have 3 in others calibers and they all work well.If using with auto loading rifles, the Lee taper crimp is a must as these dies from my measurements have a minimal neck tension and when feed in turn bolt rifles one at time, have proven to outperform dies that cost 3x more. .0015 TIR or less provided one reads the instructions. The concept is the best from my view. Lee's approach to complex problems are uniquely simple and they work, keep up the good work Lee.

Very rough made. In order to make it work, make sure you use some white grease, or it's not going to work as intended. Collet die is a great idea, but in my opinion requires significant skill to use properly, and use consistently (to get always the same depth and neck tension). I found Redding bushing dies (both neck & full body) much easier to use and switched. This die now sits unused.

Good idea, poorly executed. My die exploded while sizing my first round, the aluminum cap blew off the top of die shearing off the threads of the cap. Lee says to use up to 25 lbs of force I was not able to get close to the 25 lbs before the die gave way.

Very durable. I was so pleased with the performance of the collet die for my 30-06 that I bought one for each caliber I shoot. Brass life is greater than with full length resize, dramatically so. I just wish that Lee also made one in 416 Rigby.

This die takes a tremendous amount of pressure to get the neck tension I need. I actually broke my Lee classic turret press trying to get the neck tension so where I could not push or pull the bullet in the case with my fingers. I did shoot some of the ammo that was made with this die and yes indeed make sub MOA ammo for a 40 year old Ruger M77. I just dont like how much pressure it takes to size the cases.

I have been using the Lee collect neck sizer dies and I love mine. The best part is that you don't have to lube the inside of the case neck. There is no pulling on the neck during the resizing. The case goes into the die and the collect squeezes the case neck against a mandrel. Then the case comes out and you are ready for the next step.
