Speer Boat Tail Bullets are designed for long-range shooting. The tapered heel that gives that bullet type its name reduces aerodynamic drag for flatter trajectories. These bullets are an excellent choice for whitetail deer and antelope. This is not loaded ammunition.

I tried some other 168 gr Match Bullets, and settled on this one for my 7.5x55mm Swiss. It shoots under 1 MOA in my K-31 equipped with Type P diopter (adj. peep sight). My guess is it would be 1/2 to 3/4 MOA with a scope.

I've always used Sierra MatchKing 168 grn for my load, and the consistency was very good. Recently, I had decided to go with Speer for a change and what I noticed was that the bullet weights varies greatly between each bullet, some as much as 0.6 grn. The whole box of 100, all were under weight at about 167.4 to 167.8 grn. I will give this bullet a try and maybe going back to Sierra due to their quality and consistency.

loaded some these this morning, when to the MY LOCAL indoor range at 50 yards loaded with varget estimate fps 2700fps i had one 3 shot group in the same hole, either lucky day of shooting or a great load combo, would buy more, will have to put these out much farther to see if i get the same 3 shots in the smae hole group again

I've used these bullets for over 2 years now with my Remington 700 SPS Varmint. Very reliable and repeatable ballistics. I find that variances in weight have minimal impact on predicted ballistcs. They shoot consistent 1/2 or less MOA at 100yrds and have performed well out to 600yrds. As long as you do your part on the reloading bench these bullets will perform.

This round flies quite nice coming out of a Rem700 VTR 20" + 2" muzzle break. My load was Fed brass, CCI Primer, Varget, 2.8 OAL. Laying prone using a bipod I took my time and placed 5 flat shots at 100 yards with a 6mph 170 degree left wind, at 835 ft elevation, 63'F, the rounds sat inside 1/2 in. I know there is something better out there, I just haven't found the right "brew" for this rifle.

I shoot these through a Remington 700 SPS Tac with a 1-12" bull, I am shooting 5 shot groups at half inch groups all day. I push these at Varget max load and 2.80 oal. Highly recommend!

I just loaded some .308 Win using the IMR 8208 XBR with the Speer Match bullets and got easy sub MOA 3 shot groups. I did notice the bullet weights were not consistent.

This is a good performer, but clearly not as accurate as the 168 Sierra Matchking. The Speer jacket seems heavier, and this bullet can be used on deer size game with excellent results. That is my experience, and my opinion. Good Shooting, my friends.

It is an extremely accurate bullet. I use it exclusively in my five Swiss K-31 rifles, caliber 7.5x55. Teamed with IMR 4064 powder it will produce 1 to 1.5 MOA accuracy in a K-31. I would imagine it would do even better in a high grade match barrel.

I do not reload but these bullets come in Ultramax reloads and I use them extensively. Savage 10FP-LE and I get less than 1 MOA consistently. I have no reservations about using this bullet/load next to Hornady TAP and Black Hills when I hunt.
