The Frankford Arsenal Ammo Vault takes ammunition storage and transportation to the next level. This unit is made out of extremely durable, impact resistant material with an overmolded soft touch top and bottom. Featuring adjustable locking heights that will accommodate the longest custom target loads to factory loaded hunting ammunition, a foam insert in the top holds cartridges securely and prevents them from rattling around while a rubber molded bottom cushions cartridges from sudden blows or accidental drops. To open the locking ammo box simply squeeze the top to release the two halves to access ammo. Fit chart on bottom identifies the most popular cartridges that will fit in the Ammo Vault

Locking ammo vault a bust

I liked the concept of the FA locking ammo vault so I orderd one to see if they were worth the price. I sure locks up tight with its saw-toothed locking design. It sure is not going to open by accident. I actually found it difficult to reopen. So difficult that I dumped out some of the rounds when I pinched the box and pulled the top off. I found it awkard to use and not worth the premium price compared to other ammo boxes. It still might be good if you wanted to take just a few on a hunting trip. Be careful not to spill a bunch of rounds from your tree stand as you yank off the top cover.

Bought one for my son's .270. It is a little tough to open, especially when cold, but it keeps the ammo secure and quiet while in the field. If it opened easier it might not be as secure or quiet. An acceptable tradeoff for a well-designed product.

I took a .458 SOCOM round ...

I took a .458 SOCOM round with me to make sure this caliber would fit in the RMD-20. It does, tip down. Great piece of gear to hold the rounds and collect the brass while hunting. No rubber band needed to secure the lid while it is my pack. Will buy more.

I have purchased these boxes for multiple different calibers, specifically to protect long-range "accurized" loads. The box is very durable, and seemingly well made. For what it is, and offers, it's the best that I have found. I only have two criticisms. 1 - it's a bit tough to open. Perhaps a latch release system would be more user friendly. 2 - There is an infuriating marketing sticker on the front of every box. Unfortunately for all consumers, you need a jackhammer or copious amount of goo-gone to get it to release cleanly. The sticker boasts that you can drive a truck over the box. That's great, but I've already purchased the product... I don't need to be sold. What would be nice is the 30 minutes back that I had to spend to get a clean and sticker free box.

This is a pretty cool ammo box. It really protects my ammo in my range bag and I no longer have to put rubber bands around my slip-top ammo boxes to keep them from coming apart. I plan on buying more of these in the future. They seem to be made of more durable material than the other plastic ammo boxes. It feels like a rubberized coating and should last a long time. If you are tired of having to place rubber bands around your other ammo boxes to keep them from coming apart try these. They work great!!

I have been using the Frankford Arsenal Slip-Top Locking Ammo Box for my .22-250 and 260 Remington reloads. I am very pleased with them so far rubberized coating seems to buffer the box and there is even cushioning on the inside to protect the bullet tips. These boxes are much better than other slip-on ammo boxes and absolutely close and lock tightly with no worries about them coming apart. I would give them a 5-star rating, but they can be just a little bit of a pain to open with gloved or cold hands; as there are always tradeoffs.

This is a very well built ammo box- and it ought to be for the price, but it's worth every penny. Tough construction with non slip rubber coating is a very nice feature and coupled with the locking top really sets this box apart from other slip top boxes. I will be buying more of these and I recommend you do also.
