What a great idea! I have ...

What a great idea! I have replaced all of the lock rings on my non-Lee dies with these. Much easier to adjust and they hold the adjustment just fine.

I guess my experience with these rings is different from the others. The purpose of a locking ring is to "lock" the die in place to so you dont have to readjust it everytime you put it back into the press. As there is no set screw for these rings, they can easily slip up or down on the die requiring that it be readjusted everytime it's put back into the press. Great price for a set of three, but, big deal...

These come with all of the Lee Dies I've purchased since the 80s, and they work great on a Lee Turret press. I've purchased a couple of sets for use with non-Lee dies on my Lee Turret Press and very happy with them for that application. Would of given 5 stars but sorry Lee these are not what the other manufacturers are calling locking rings. These Lee rings will not retain your adjustment when swapping dies on a single stage press.

Two thoughts on these locking rings. I assumed these were to be used in ADDITION to the existing locking ring as a double nut. If you want to double net but don't like the O-ring then turn it over and use the side without the O-ring.

I was a bit worried these would slip when I got my first lee dies, but I put a dot on the ring and die with a sharpie and the dots are still lined up over a 1000 round, over one year, and several die changes later. I am replacing by RCBS allen set screw lock rings with these as they seem to eventually strip out and loosen. (These work great on RCBS dies too)

What a great product. I reload for eight different cartridges. Have replaced all RCBS and Dillon dies with Lee's locking rings. They have locked tight and have never moved, will order more as needed.

These o-ring lock rings beat the heck out of messing with Allen wrenches and pliers to adjust your dies. Once again, Mr. Lee has engineered a very good piece of equipment at a very reasonable price.

I had concerns about these locking rings when I got my first set of Lee dies. I bought some locking split rings and they do hold better but it is a pain to have to use an allen wrench to loosen the ring to adjust the die. It takes three hands to make sure the adjustment stays while tightening the allen screw. For the Lee lock ring if you have the die adjusted properly and hold the die while screwing down the locking ring it will be set. To remove I just loosen both the locking ring and die together. I have my ring finger and thumb on the locking ring and my first and middle finger on the die. By unscrewing both at the same time the adjustment stays. The Lee lock ring works great but also allows you to adjust if needed without tools.

These lock rings work great if instructions are followed, but I always fuss over concerns about precision and repeatability. There is a simple solution - just double up on the rings (2 per die). This is easy and cheap to do. Just remember to remove the O-ring between the two rings so there is metal-to-metal contact between them. When adjusting the die keep the two rings apart until you are happy with the setting, then using two wrenches (so you don't accidentally change the setting) just tighten the top ring down onto the bottom ring. Once this is done there is no possibility of slipping when the die is removed from the press. This works 98% of the time for me. The only case where it doesn't work is when the die is set very deep into the press and there isn't enough room to add a 2nd ring. For these rare cases I use a Hornady lock ring.

This "locking ring" came with my Lee press kit and I am unimpressed. As another person said, it is supposed to lock the die in place, and it does not do that at all. I will be ordering RCBS locking rings with the tightening screw.

All I can say is buy them for all your dies. Much easier to adjust. No set screws to strip out. Hold firm. Cheap to buy.
