This trigger is great. ...

This trigger is great. Super easy to install. The safety issue everyone is talking about is a screw that is too long. Easy fix. I just used a Dremel to cut the threads down a bit or you could dremel out the wood where the screw touches. I set mine at 1lb and love it.

Definitely an improvement ...

Definitely an improvement over the factory trigger. When installed into the all weather zytel stock on the 77/22 if you tighten the rear trigger guard screw too much it will "pinch" the trigger down and you will not be able to rack the bolt without the firing pin dropping as you put it down again (it doesn't snap forward it just goes down as fast as you push the bolt down). This is remedied by backing off the screw a turn or two. I may even be tightening it too much, I am not sure what the specs are. If you want it really tight, then be prepared to do a slight amount of filing, but nothing you should need a gunsmith for. It does have noticeable creep, but its so light I don't mind. Strangely I feel like the creep increased as you make the trigger pull heavier, I thought the opposite would have been the case.Getting the "jam" screw adjusted so that the safety functions normally takes a little bit of tweaking (think along the lines of adjusting old school engine valves with a screwdriver and wrench)but it really was not that big a deal.After properly set, the safety feels kind of mushy, but you want it pressing right up against that jam screw nice and tight so the trigger cannot be depressed with the safety engaged.Hard to explain but when you open it up and look for yourself, it should be pretty obvious.

Directions on this are ...

Directions on this are not as good as they could be. Also they could give better hints on fine tuning this trigger. When poundage is set real low there is noticable creep but not at higher settings.

Very easy to install even ...

Very easy to install. ...

Very easy to install. Push out pin for trigger. Remove stock trigger and spring. Replace with new parts, your done. 10 to 15 min to install. Great trigger. I set mine at 2/1/2 lbs. Stock trigger was almost 7 lbs. Great improvment.

After installation ...

After installation according to the instructions, I had to remove a considerable amount of wood to clear the safety screw. Then the trigger interfered with the stock somewhere else and caused the trigger to fire when the bolt was engaged. I never could figure out where the problem was. Also, the trigger had considerable creep which was disappointing. However, the trigger adjustment worked well.

The Rifle Basix trigger ...

The Rifle Basix trigger is a true drop-in installation that requires only basic tools, and yields an excellent single-stage trigger pull. I adjusted mine to 2.25 lbs. and tested the safety of the product by dropping the rifle, recoil pad down, onto a concrete floor from a height of 1 foot, three consecutive times. The firing pin did not fall. So the product not only lives up to it's manufacturers claims, it is safe as well. All in all, money well spent.
