Perfect for law enforcement or varmint hunters, this easy to install mount replaces the handguard and looks great on Mini-14's and Mini-30's. Three step installation requires no permanent modifications to the rifle and still allows for use of the iron sights under the rail. 9" long Picatinny-style rail offers numerous mounting options in a scout position.

For installation, remove handguard, install two-sided 4" long steel clamp, then attach 9" long Picatinny-style mount portion.

I like it! Installed ...

I like it! Installed easily on a 180's series mini 14. Iron sights still visible as before. It does add weight, but it reduces recoil and for me that equals better follow up shots. My barrel should stay cooler also, since the original wooden piece didn't allow for movement of air like this product. Don't let the extra weight scare you away from this product. Well worth the money to be able to add modern optics and accessories. You can't get a rail system made from any lighter of material and still hold up to multiple shots and rough use (I don't baby my 36 year old mini). Very well made and I highly recommend if you're looking to add ANY kind of upgrades to a standard stock mini 14. It works well for my new EOTech 512 and an offset mount for my tactical flashlight. It's like having a brand new "weapon system" now. Yeah, an EOTech 512 on an old mini, what can I say? Love my mini and the Aimtech Scout Rail.

Just received this ...

Just received this product and mounted it on my rifle. Works just fine and adds a great deal of versatility to the sighting system. I found that the extra weight on the front tends to reduce muzzle lift and allows for faster follow-up shots. Good product

This product works ...

This product works reasonably well. It locks firmly onto the Mini 14 with no movement. The only problems with this product are a result of its size. It is heavy and makes the rifle front heavy and unweildy.

The product works only ...

The product works only for older mini 14's without the tappered barrel. I was able to modify mine to fit a newer mini, but it took some effort.The product itself is slighty heavy but the weapon isn't too front heavy in my opinion...the weight also greatly reduces recoil btw.The rail does sit rather high and makes taking a good cheek weld difficult, but it's a trade off...the iron sights are perfectly visible still.

Not gotten a chance to ...

Not gotten a chance to use this yet, but it was a fight to get it mounted. I got the barrel mounts on fine but the actual rail wouldn't slide over them. I had to wedge and "knock" it into place. All is well now that it's mounted. I just wonder if I had trouble mounting due to my mini having a newer barrel. I've got a synthetic stock, and while it did increase it's weight, I still don't think it's as heavy as my dad's wood stock with a scope mount.
