This is a very capable, accurate bullet. I used this bullet last fall deer hunting and was more than amazed at its performance. Shot a mule deer at 512 yards with it, bullet exited, deer ran about 20 steps and that was it. Also lost my coyote loads on the same trip, and this load actually did very well on coyotes (no big exit holes to fix). I end up taking several deer with this bullet out of my 243 and they were all 1 shot kills, with a mixed bag of exit/no-exit wounds.

Very accurate bullet but I do not recommend this bullet on any animal larger that a coyote. It does not penetrate and does not leave a blood trail.

I've reloaded a lot of ammo in the past 35 years and I haven't found another bullet that is as accurate. One hole accuracy at 120 yds from my Remington. There is a penetration problem on deer sized game though.

I've used this round, both in factory Winchester Supreme loads, and more recently handloads, for 10+ years. For medium sized game like Texas white tail, it's one of the better bullets out there - as long as you keep your shots within range. My longest kill with a .243 is 170 yards with complete pass through. However, this season I had my first non recovered deer on a 328 yard shot - the projectile just didn't have the punch to push through the brisket of the doe at that range. For a broadside out to 400, it cannot be beat, but know the limitations. I still love the round and will use it faithfully, but also plan on loading up some Partitions to keep in the bag in case a longer shot presents itself again.

This is a great bullet if used within its limitations. It is fine for varmints and small game. My daughter has shot a few whitetails with it. The 243 ack. imp. 24 inch barrel is running it about 3350 velocity. The bullet will not hold together enough to pass through at any distance. No blood trail .The bullet is very accurate and affordable. Just use it wisely. I don't like a deer running over 60 yards or so. But the bullet does everything they claim it will do.

This is the same bullet in the Winchester XP=2 Ammo, I believe. My son shot his doe last year at 40 yds. 243 WSSM with 95gr XP2. Bullet hit a rib both lungs creased the hart and hit the opposite rib than did NOT exit. There was absolutely no blood trail. Good thing, as the deer only ran about 50yds and piled up. The bullet had completely disintegrated and there were only Fragments in the big lump under the skin. Not sure if we want to risk using it again.

I read Grant Rahms review last year which proved to be dead on. My 9 year old daughter took her first five deer last hunting season and all dropped in their tracks. She shot them anywhere from 70 yards out to as far as 275 yards. I have been shooting deer this year under a farmers kill permit and have shot deer myself from 50 yards out to a little over 400 yards. Only one ran about 10 yards before expiring. Loaded this pill with IMR 4831 to get .614 inch groups out of her youth version Savage rifle. Will be working up some loads with Varget in the near future. Highly recommend this bullet!

I've been using this round in 7mm mag. for years until this year. I cannot believe how well the .243 worked on deer sized game. Dropped a nice 8 pointer at 187 yds. instantly. Followed by 4 more does in the next few days. They ranged from 140 to 210 yards. Zero scope at 200 yds and your good to 300 aiming at center of chest. Love this round. Ps. zero recoil.

It does not shoot quite ...

It does not shoot quite as accurately as the 55 grain bullet out of my A-bolt, but still produces 1.5 inch groups at 200 yards. I used it on deer this year with mixed results. I shot a heavy bodied buck at just over 100 yards and hit him in the lungs and top of the heart. While there was a considerable wound channel the bullet did not penetrate completely and was in the hide on the opposite shoulder. The only thing left was a mangled piece of copper. Although the deer did not go 20 yards so tracking was not an issue.

Excellent results in the field (deer, coyotes) Have used in 30-06, .280, .243 and never had anything but a complete kill on the spot.
