This flattop A3 upper receiver comes complete with charging handle, bolt carrier assembly, aluminum tubular free-float handguard, Picatinny-style rail gas block and target crowned muzzle. The 24" button rifled Ultramatch barrel is chambered for 25 WSSM with a 1 in 10" rate of twist. WSSM uppers do not come with a brass deflector or ejection port cover. Ready for installation onto any standard AR-15 lower receiver. Includes one 6 round magazine. Lifetime factory warranty.

Had sand blasted silver barrel, not black. No paperwork showing whom it was actually manufactured by or any warranty or break-in instructions. Magazine was worthless. Loading mag that was provided, chipped off the silver ballistic tips. Overall I feel the product is misrepresented and that being said, overpriced.

I bought this upper after ...

I bought this upper after pricing much more expensive uppers in this caliber. All I have to say is that it was very impressive and worth every dime! 100 yrds, 3 shots on bullseye, played with my scope to see what it would do 4 clicks gave me one inch at 100 yrds without fail. My loads 120 gr. Hornady HP with 42.0 gr H4350. To shoot this load in this rifle configuration I had to seat the bullet down to fit the magazine. However I have no signs of pressure or loss of accuracy! Over all I'm very satisfied with this upper! Very happy that I went this route over the more expensive option I had considered!

I really like this upper, ...

I really like this upper, but it has a few issues.First, it arrived with a sandblasted silver color, not black, and they sandblasted the muzzle crown. Accuracy out of the box was 2-3 MOA.Second, it is impossible to get clean, I have scrubbed and swabbed the barrel for hours and still get black patches out of it. Upon examination of the bore with a 25x borescope, the bore is really porous with small pits everywhere. I removed a half inch of the muzzle to eliminate the sandblasted muzzle crown and re-crowned with an 11 degree crown, now it shoots under 1 MOA, but is still impossible to get clean.

Just received my upper ...

Just received my upper last week and took it to range Saturday. I have to agree with some of the other reviews the magazine provided is not good quality, doesn't feed well and follower tends to tilt. But that being said the upper was top notch we started out with mfg recommend barrel break in procedure and what started out as a 3 in spread at 50 yard quickly resolved its self and by the 15th round fired we were getting clover-leafs and groups less than .5 at 50 yards with no jams we are groups seem to get better with every shot fired. about halfway through break in now I highly recommend this upper I think it's good quality and has good quality look and feel.

If you are looking to add ...

If you are looking to add some power to your AR15 then the WSSM line is a great way to do it. I purchased this upper with the hopes of finding an accurate, medium range cartridge to use primarily for hunting and target shooting. I am not dissapointed in this upper. The blueing and finish are as good as any other manufacturer and the barrel is top notch, inside and out. Almost every load I have tried in my upper will produce at least 1 1/2" groups at 100 yds, and quite a few even better. However, if you intend to reload for this upper I will caution you that I have had problems with using Hodgdon H4350 with this upper. You need to use powders with faster burn rates to keep from causing problems in my experience. The factory magazines have unreliable followers. Buy a pack of the MagPul anti-tilt followers and trim it down to accept the WSSM cartridge. Better yet; Buy some MagPul mags and modify them to work with the cartridge. I have done this successful with my dremel tool and the modified Magpul mags work much better and 100% more reliable than the factory provided magazine. I give the upper 5-stars and the factory magazine, as provided, 2 stars. Upper fit was excellent on my Stag lower. Be aware that cartridges must be limited to COL of 2.260" to properly fit in the AR mags. Most factory 120gr bullets are too long to fit in the mag without seating the bullet slightly deeper. Be careful with HP rounds as they can drag/catch on the barrel extension while cycling. Ballistic tipped and SP bullets increase reliability of feeding greatly. Definately worth the price for the upper if you are looking to make your AR15 into a big game, medium-range hunter.

Excellent accuracy and ...

Excellent accuracy and reliability. Groups during barrel break-in averaged .86 inches. Since break-in .5 in. No failures to feed or eject since round 3. Mag. inside length is 2.270 so you if you reload you need to insure your OAL is adjusted accordingly. All factory ammo has fed without a hitch.

This is my initial ...

This is my initial impression. The upper Ive got is equipped with a 20" stainless barrel and shoots right at 1.5 MOA out of the box with a lackluster factory RRA lower and factory Super X ammo. I'm sure it would be better with a good trigger and some hand load development. The only thing that ruffles my feathers is the poor quality followers in the supplied magazines, they cant and twist like crazy and do not lock the bolt back on the last round. I also contacted Olympic Arms to see if they had any reloading info for this cartridge in an autoloader and they were of no help and just referred me to reloading manuals (kind of insulting, thats always the first place any good/responsible hand loader looks). Other than the little things that you kind of expect with unconventional cartridges this is the second most accurate AR rifle I have; second to my Lilja barreled 204 Ruger custom.
