The Bushnell Backtrack utilizes GPS technology to help you find your way back to your car or base camp at the end of the day. It has only 2 buttons, making it extremely easy to use, and stores up to 3 locations. It is also weather resistant, lightweight and compact and runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included). At the end of the day the Backtracker will point you where you want to go. All you need to do is push a button. Weighs approximately 4 ounces without batteries.

I've been using the ...

I've been using the BackTrack for about two years now. It works very well. I've gone places I would never have gone without it. I can venture into the woods and relax, never worrying about finding my way back to the truck. Mine is accurate enough, I believe I could drop a dime in the thick stuff and return the next day to retrieve it. I'm not as healthy as I once was, so I don't need to be walking in the wrong direction in the summer time after I run out of water. The BackTrack has saved me on two occasions.

Excellent for what it is ...

Excellent for what it is supposed to do.I am a Desert Rally Navigator and I am taking this little GPS device with me for security use. When stuck "somwhere in the middle of nowhere" and if one of the team is going to try and find outside help or just a better passage route, it did happen more then once that the team member just could not find his way back to the vehicle.I did some testing with this device and they where all positive. It brought me back to the point I wanted (whitin a reasonable distance of a few yards)!

Was given one of these as ...

Was given one of these as a Christmas gift a couple of season back. It is an excellent product, easy to use and accurate. I hunt tight against the border in north central Washington State. Using this product keeps me out of Canada. The border patrol no longer knows me by name. My wife swears that the BackTrack was wrapped in an old border patrol brochure.

Accuracy is interesting, ...

Accuracy is interesting, 30 yrds to a few feet. I would not depend on it for exact placement to your return target but it is accurate enough if you can see around you. It was a challenge in heavy forest. Best used for checking direction every few minutes rather than walking with it trying to follow the arrow. I'm not quite trusting it yet but believe I will when I get more use time out of it.

I just returned from a ...

I just returned from a bowhunt for mule deer in the vast sandhills of Nebraska. I am not a technology kind of guy and was looking for a very simple to use GPS before I left and I found it. The sandhills are a very intimidating part of the world. It all looks the same and goes forever.While there the weather turned very bad and we never saw the sun. We had it all, snow, sleet, freezing rain. Weather records back to the mid 1800's were broken.The Backtraker did all that it is advertised to do. It gave me the peace of mind to concentrate on hunting and not be worried if I could find my way out.I am recommending this instrument to all of my hunting and outdoor activity friends. Mine took me to within feet of where I wanted to return to.
