The Hornady Lock-N-Load Magnum Sonic Cleaner is the powerhouse of ultrasonic cleaners. The Magnum Sonic Cleaner is triple the size of the original Sonic Cleaner, and takes cartridge case cleaning to the next level. The Magnum Cleaner utilizes two transducers for superior cleaning power, and also has an adjustable heating element to maximize cleaning efficiency without damaging delicate parts. The sonic cleaning action and unique One-Shot Solution cleans case quicker and more efficiently than any tumbler on the market. Ultrasonic action creates "Microjets" that take off the most stubborn carbon from brass cases, gun parts, and other equipment that will fit in the machine. The cleaner comes with a tight mesh basket that is great for cleaning small parts

Ultrasonic Cleaning removes fouling from cases, it does not polish cases. Reloader's looking for polished cases still need to run cleaned cases through a tumbler to achieve a shiny finish

Cases require dry time after cleaning prior to loading.

IV TRYED A COUPLE OF THE CHEEPER CLEANERS ...THEY DONT WORK WELL AT ALL AND YOU HAVE TO BABYSIT THEM.

I just received this product today. I also purchased the One Shot Brass Cleaner. With the other reviews I read, I was excited to experience the truly deep cleaning that the Ultrasonic method offered. The product cleaned a batch of 100 L/C .223 brass, primer pockets and all in about 15 minutes. The problem is... when I loaded the second batch of 100 cases, the unit absolutely failed to start! The controls allowed input to set the temp and timer but the push-on push-off function totally failed. this is far too expensive an endeavor to spend north of $200 to clean 100 cases!! I hear HF online has a unit about the same size for half the price. This one is going back to midway tomorrow.

This thing is incredible. I ran 2 different batches of .40 each with about 150 rounds. Likely could have fit them all in one batch. I ran them for 5 minutes, stirred them and then ran them for another 10 minutes. In the end, they came out looking brand new. Even the primer pockets were spotless. There was no need to clean the primer pockets, a very pleasant and timesaving surprise.As other reviews have accurately pointed out, there are no meaningful instructions included. So, I set the heat at 115 degrees as that seemed like a good number. Preheating time was only about 15 minutes. Again, this machine works very well. Have never gotten shells this clean out of a tumbler.

Let me say that yes this is a little pricey, but if you are reloading you're saving money already so make your job easy. 20-30 minutes will leave your brass so freaking clean I'd eat off it. Primer pockets clean, insides clean. It's amazing. I used Hornady one-shot solution and it works wonderfully. Some tips, heat up your water in a pot on the stove, the heater in this isn't very fast so help it out a little. My procedure is to heat water, pour into ultrasonic cleaner, submerge brass in basket add solution per directions. Set it for 20 min and stir every 5-7, when it beeps check if not perfect set for another 10. Remove basket when clean wash brass and dump it on a towel and roll it around briefly then into a sheet pan and in the oven for 10 minutes at 175 degrees to dry completely. No more media clogging the holes, no more dirty insides on bottleneck cartridges. If your brass is not new like factory and shiny too, you my friend are doing something wrong.

Works great on gun parts. Carbon caked gas parts come out clean but may need a couple 15 minute cycles depending on how bad they are. Once or twice fired brass cleans quickly but older brass may require several cycles to clean out the primer pockets and the inside. I still tumble my brass to remove any residue and get a long lasting shine on the outside of the case. Can't overload the basket or it won't clean very well. Both the Hornady cleaning solutions work well.

Excellent product. I also was disappointed with the lack of instructions, but you really don't need much. I put 250 .45 cases in that I picked up at the range and after 25 minutes and 130 degrees 95% looked like new. The other 5% had stains and a little carbon, but not enough to matter. I'll never go back to corn cob's and walnut shells. Just make sure you use the right cleaner for brass and for gun parts as it does make a difference.

Just used this for the first time and the specific instructions were a little weak. My load to clean was 50 rounds of once fired 270 win brass. I found it takes about 62 ounces of water to cover them and I used reverse osmosis water from my kitchen. Had to jiggle them around to be sure no air was still in the case. Added the Hornady brass cleaner per instructions. The heater was set at 110 degrees and my garage temp was 72...it took over 5 minutes to raise it 1 degree...in the future I will start with hot water or allow about an hour for the temp to raise. And the high temp does seem to really make a difference. Ran the brass for cycles of 8 min and it took 3 of those to get it clean...next time will probably use 30 min or so at the high temp to begin with. Be aware that when the temp is reached the heater cuts off but the temp will keep rising due to the ultrasonic action. Mine ended up at 119 degrees after the 3 cycles. Rinsed very well and let it dry for a day since there is water inside the cases as well. Brass is great, clean inside and out, I would rate the primer pockets at about 95% with that model. This system is way better than anything I have used before. Great product.

I just received my Hornady ultrasonic cleaner. First, great service from Midway. They have never let me down. This case cleaner is unbelievable!!! I should have done this years ago. Normally I spend 2 or more hours with the tumbler cleaning brass, with minimal results. In the Ultrasonic cleaner, 15 to 20 min. and the cases literally, look like new. I would suggest using distilled water. I used 32 oz. and 3 caps full of conditioner. Fifteen min. and my 223 LC brass looks great. Deprime first for best results. Pockets are clean. After cleaning I flush thoroughly with water and blow dry with my air compressor. I give it 5 stars without hesitation.

My 110v model came today. I ran six batches for 30 minutes each without changing the liquid. Cases are not perfectly cleaned but they are clean enough. Much more effective than tumbling, less mess and no more shaking the media out of the cases.

I procrastinated on the purchase of an ultrasonic cleaner until Hornady came out with this larger version. I'm not an complete convert to the use of ultrasonic cleaning methods. My brass comes out spotless with absolutely clean primer pockets. I have disassembled and cleaned an 1911, SA revolvers and the internals of my Marlin 1895. Everything came out completely clean - no residue at all. And this is considering that I shoot black powder exclusively in everything except the 1911. Absolutely fantastic machine.
