Sierra GameKing Bullets are designed for hunting at long range, where their extra margin of performance can make the critical difference. GameKing bullets feature a boat tail design to bring hunters the ballistic advantage normally found with match target bullets. The 30 Caliber 165 Grain GameKing performs great on medium-sized game at any velocity level. It may also be used on larger game such as elk as long as velocity does not exceed 3000 feet per second.

This is my standby in my 30/06. I have been reloading the 30/06 for 24 years now,and have tried many different bullets. This is the bullet I keep coming home to. I have found some faster,and some a little more accurate but none have been able to combine speed, accuracy, killing power as well Sierra's 165 SBT.

The bullets are great, they are a joy to shoot. However, my most recent order from Midway would appear that they have been sitting in the warehouse for a loooong time. The packaging was sealed properly but all the bullets are discolored(the way all brass/copper does over time). I am sure they will shoot Just as well but it is a shame for my hunting ammo to look worn and abused before it ever makes it into the field.

Used in my Rem 700 30-06 over past 20 years. Accuracy and leathality unparalled by any other bullet, I have taken numerous White Tails with clean quick kills. Largest deer taken a 300+ lb Mullie in Nevada at 400+ yards DRT ! Wild Hogs, 120 yards DRT ! Sub-MOA at 100 yrds all day.There isn't a better bullet for my 06'. Loaded up for my new SPS Tactical; AAC can't wait to see the results and expect the same. There are no surprises with this projectile.

A decade ago, with this bullet, I took my first elk, at almost 400 yards. It completely penetrated both lungs, taking pink tissue with it as it exited. The elk didn't go far. This past hunting season I loaded this 165 grain bullet for my neighbors 300 Winchester, and his son's 30-06. They both made quick one shot kills on 300+ lb Saskatchewan whitetails. Sierra's Game Kings not only penetrate, but they distribute a sizeable proportion of the bullets energy in the animal. Couple this fact with near match grade accuracy and you have a load that you can take on your hunt with confidence.

I have loaded this bullet for my 30-06 and 308 for years and it is a very accurate fast bullet. I have taken Mule Deer and Elk in Colorado with this bullet and the bullet has always performed perfectly. The animals rarely go more than 20 to 30 yards after being hit and most die where they were shot. I have recovered some of the bullets from the game and they have expanded into a perfect mushroom and retained almost all of their weight.I can't recommend this bullet high enough in terms of accuracy and performance verses some of the others that cost much more. It's an excellent bullet and they are still reasonably priced.

I reload these for these for 4 different .308s, a-bolt, x-bolt, and my Tikka. They all use varying lots of Varget and all get sub 1" groups at 100 yrs. We have shot dozens of deer w/ these, 1 shot 1 kill. Fantastic penetration and whenever we recover the bullet big mushroom that has held its weight in tact. Always a short quick recovery when using these.

I have not shot a deer with this bullet however in my 308 with imr 3031, I can shoot a 3/4 inch group a 100 yards. Best bullet for the price.

I use this bullet in my 300 win mag over IMR7828 powder and am getting 3200fps. I chose this lighter than ideal bullet because I needed a lot of speed to overcome the fact that I have only a 200 yrd shooting range but may need to take shots out to 400 yrds. I was very surprised the first time I took my rifle to the range with this bullet. At 200 yards I could consistently cover 5 shots with a quarter, and that was with an '88 model Remington BDL sporter. Last year this load gave me the third deer that I needed to earn the Arkansas Triple Trophy award. I was hunting on a power line easement last year, at the top of a hill and a deer was way down in the valley, 320yrds away. He buckled, turned around three times and died. When I collected him, he was laying in a 2 foot diameter puddle of pink blood. The bullet had entered an inch or two below center, (right where I was aiming) started to expand immediately, turned the left lung to jelly, disintegrated the heart, and blew a 2" hole out right between his legs. I never recovered the bullet, but that was definitely one of the cleanest rifle kills I have ever made. You can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to be running this bullet in my rifle this year!!!

I use this for hunting in a Styer Scout in 308 WIN (velocity aprox 2700 fps). It shoots 1 MOA. I have shot two pigs (both about 200 lbs), three black tail deer, and a few coyotes. The round has a small entry hole and the exit hole is about 1.5 inches (sometimes bigger on light skinned animals). Everything I hit had a good exit hole with good internal damage. I have never found fragments in the animals. Based on what I have seen, I believe this will work on elk too. I think a bonded bullet would penetrate deeper on bigger animals, but this bullet is the right price, and it did good work on the pigs. The last pig I hit through the shoulder at aprox. 120 yds. The round broke the leg on the far side, and still left a perfect exit hole.

This is one heck of a bullet has gotten me three cow elk the last three yrs. First two at 200 and 250. and this years was at 375. This bullet is great loaded with 4064 to 2500fps out of an encore pro hunter. will do under an inch at 100yds.

I use this bullet in several of my guns ranging in different calibers. Loaded some up in my 06's. Both a-bolt and bar. a-bolt gets 1 hole shots using 4350. bar the same but shoots about 3/4". Father took a 180lb deer broad side at 150yds. No blood on impact almost 50yds before dropping. When field dressing deer. Found the bullet entered between two ribs broadside went through the 1st lung right through the heart size of dime exited the heart same. Liquefied the outer lung and exited opposite side breaking two ribs and exit hole was size of quarter on way out. Reason for 4 stars was that I feel the 150gr. would of done better internal damage. Have used factory 165gr. with great results
