Hoppe's Bore Snake Viper takes the world's fastest gun bore cleaner and makes it even better. The Bore Snake Viper utilizes the same one-pass pull-through technology and compact storage size of the original Bore Snake with the addition of an extra cleaning brush for a total of three, providing 50 % more cleaning power. The Bore Snake Viper has a cone shaped bore guide on the leading end to allow for easy insertion into your gun's bore. The pull cord on the Bore Snake Viper is attached directly to the brushes for superior strength. The area to apply lubricant on the Bore Snake is clearly marked in bright orange.

First time using a bore snake

Works great, just put some cleaner before the brushes and oil at the tail and run it through a few times. I'll admit, I use it after I've already cleaned with my Otis kit because I don't want to wash the boresnake too often but this leaves the barrel super clean. If you're as thorough about a clean barrel as I am then buy it.

Easy, Quick, Effective

Much easier than the brush and rod traditional method. Although I will still run the brush/rod at times, this stays in my showing bag and in my regular cleaning routines. I have one for my shotguns, rifles, and pistols.

Overall it works good for a few fast passes through the bore at the range. However, you will find that a traditional cleaning, using a bore brush, swabs, etc., is still necessary to catch all that was missed with the bore snake. In other words, do not think that this is a replacement for properly cleaning your firearm. It's a supplement.

I always use the Boresnake, one calibrated to each of my different firearms, as a quick and effective means for cleaning, and with a quick wipe of other exposed parts with an opened chamber, in between times of deep cleaning. I am completely confident of the integrity of each of my firearms to shoot when needed without misfires or other fears.Boresnake does a superb job alone, but with the addition of my favorite liquid cleaner and lubricant I use it also whenever I do a deep clean.
