Comfortable even when driving, the patented Pistol Pocket leather holster slips into your waistband and secures to your belt with a snap-on belt loop. The belt loop fits belts up to 1-3/4" wide, and is attached to the holster with a ratcheted swivel to adjust the holster between five carry modes. Hand-boned for a precise fit to your gun, with a metal reinforced thumb snap for quick release. Can be worn crossdraw. Open muzzle.

I bought this very well made holster for my 4th Gen Detective Special. Sturdy leather and quality construction make the 3S a winner. My DS fits perfectly and does NOT drop out when the holster is inverted with the thumb strap open. I especially like the versatility of being able to change the degree of cant along with a crossdraw carry option. The swivel "clicks" positively with no play whatsoever and has a brass screw to adjust its tension.After "committing" to this carry system for a month, I can tell you that I've found it to be very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Even with a 1.5" dress belt, the holster stays in place without any excessive vertical movement while drawing. Worn at the 4 o'clock position, it tucks the butt in nicely to aid in concealment. I especially appreciate the the snaps on the belt loop which ease donning and removing the holster, and they hold solid even after repeated use.My only complaint about the 3S is that I've found that if you draw while seated, the rear of the cylinder tends to snag the bottom of the inside portion of the thumb break snap. It's made of copper so I don't think it'll damage the finish, but it's a detriment in my view. Also, getting the thumbbreak to fit the first time is an arduous task, but that's not the fault of the holster. Bianchi's instructions definitely make the process less aggravating, but it's not "easy" by any stretch of the imagination (pun not intended) to get it to around a Colt's spur hammer.

Well-designed and constructed holster. Easy to get on and off. Good fit on my SP101. And like the reviewer before me said, it is really a beautiful leather holster.Wish it was made in the USA, but it's made in Mexico -- but appears to be a top notch product.

Premium quality at an affordable price. I purchased this for a Ruger SP-101 2-1/4" w/ spurless hammer. Fits snug and broke in well after a few days. I was pleasantly suprised to find that the retention strap holds even the spurless model very securely (I tried all manner of tugging and wiggling and could not make it fail). Easy adjustment makes for good concealment and comfort, (as much as I think IWB carry can be anyway), in whatever degree cant you prefer to carry in. Goes without saying that a good quality gun belt is an absolute must for comfort and (more importantly) a solid, fast draw with this holster. Use the maximum width the holster accepts (1.75" wide) unless you plan on having the loops altered for a smaller belt. Any less without modification and your holster will sink on you and negatively affect your draw. Also worth noting, the holster rides mid to high at around 2/3 of weapon being exposed above the belt. With cover garment off and a tucked shirt, this holster easily goes open carry where desired or required (bars and restaurants by state law where I live) and still maintains a professional appearance and visibility to others. There is absolutely no mistaking that you are armed when the jacket comes off and it certainly beats having to change out holsters or worrying about possibly getting busted at dinner by an LEO that might think your "VA tucked" IWB carried weapon is a little to deep in your trousers to be considered open carry. Besides, it's a fine piece of leather. Would be a shame not to show it off.

Excellent holster, snap belt loop makes for easy on and off, good concealability. Thumb snap does not snag S&W J frame hammer. This is my 2nd one the first one lasted 30 yrs.
