These are indispensable for cleaning magwells and mag bodies. I also use them to clean the insides of the slides of pistols. The can even be use to clean out some short barrels and are especially nice for revolver cylinders. The only issue I have with them is they can shed off some of the fluff now and then and then you have to see about getting that back out of the area you just cleaned. That is the reason I give them only four starts. 99% of the time though, this doesn't happen, I just hate the 1% of the time it does.

Outstanding product, many uses. They are quite useful for cleaning out dies. Soak one in solvent, run through a die, wrap a large bore patch on a dry swab and run that through the die as a final cleaning. Works to get old case lube out of sizer dies and bullet lube out of seater dies.

An extremely versatile and durable product. Great for thorough swabbing the chamber, for getting into all the "nooks and crannies" of the action and all those places too small and out of the way for other tools and patches. Can be bent into convenient angles. I carry a couple in my range bag for quick cleaning of actions, esp. when there is little time (at a match), nor facilities to fieldstrip.

Very handy for reaching ...

Very handy for reaching all the hard to get places, as other reviewers have noted. Can use to apply liquids or to dry them off. The swabs pay for themselves in my opinion because with them I can use liquids instead of having to use more expensive aerosols to reach everything. The only way I could think to improve them would be to make the handle a little longer. I sometimes bend the loop out of the wire to make them longer and this is usually enough.

These swabs are absolutely the best thing for cleaning/lubricating all kinds of difficult to reach places -- inside rifle chambers, receivers, magazine wells, semi-auto pistol slides, etc. Apply some CLP to clean/lubricate, or use dry to absorb cleaner, excess CLP. Handle can be bent to reach around corners. Makes cleaning much easier/quicker. Wouldn't want to be without them!

These are quite handy ...

These are quite handy little swabs, and I'll probably buy more when I need them. They shed a little, so it would be nice to see them shed less, or not at all. The fiber ball isn't uniformly think around the metal core (hard to appreciate my complaint unless you use them) so I'd like to see that improved.

These are the greatest ...

These are the greatest for cleaning up chambers and breech. I often wrap a patch around it to make them last longer. And I use a pair of pliers, grabbing the ring at the end - with a little twist to the ring so it's at a 90 degree angle, they can reach inside of semi autos' breech pretty easily. It would be great if someone made one with brass bristles!
