Checkering on the stock ...

Checkering on the stock and forgrip make very week --also need to file all of the molding seams , just by the feel and looks not for cold weather --- very hollow and no ribs for support

Bought one for my Mosin and Dad wanted one for his 1943 No.1 Mk III. Good looking and fit well...But, one of forend pieces fell off while shooting on sandbags and disappeared. Also pistol grip is a little thick but decent. Other than that it works.

Attractive looking stock ...

Attractive looking stock looks and feels quite different in hand. Checkered portions are hollow sounding and had come apart during shipping, the stock was chewed up on the grip from rubbing in the bag and what made it worse, the stock was warped and would not seat right on the barrel. Would have made it nice if they had used a real recoil pad instead of the checkered hard plastic one they chose. I love Monte Carlo stocks but I am going to go with a different stock for this.

Although the fit was tight, it needed no modification to assemble. I couldn't believe the difference it made in the feel and balance of the gun. It is absolutely well worth the money, and I am seriously considering another for my Number 4 Mark II even though it has original wood in great shape.

I recieved my stock today about 11:00 AM and it was installed twenty minutes later and that included finishing a late breakfast. I took it to the range and tried it out and found it to be exactly as advertised. This not only dresses up my SMLE , it lessens the weight and seems to have improved my grouping but I really did not shoot enough to be sure yet. I expect the rifle will be much more consistent now. A GREAT PRODUCT!!

This stock set was a great improvement from the old Herter's high comb that was on it when I got the gun. Fit was not absolutely perfect, but very close. It came missing the front swivel stud so I called the manufacturers 800-number and they are sending it right out so +1 for them too. Gotta get some dies now and see what the old girl will do.

The stock that I purchased was a bit of a disappointment. despite the best I could do cutting, filing, and sanding the stock still doesnt fit good at all because the front end was warped. When I put another stock on it Im going with a Boyd's.

My British .303 has been in an old Herter's walnut stock for years and I never did really like it. Seemed too big for the barreled action. Bought the plastic stock and it was a perfect fit. Nice and snug around the action and barrel. My groups have improved because of it. I am very pleased, and would buy a similar stock for my next project. I like the shape, fit and finish.
