Product Information

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight, making them a superb choice for hunting. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

Perfection!

I had a rem 673 rebarreled in 6.5 mag with an adams and bennett barrel in 1-9 twist. The factory barrel was too short and stiff and accuracy suffered. Accuracy with this bullets is more than i can ask for with 760 powder and what it does to deer is even better. The plus with using this bullet in this rifle is the short magazine box. This hollow point design allows for seating the bullet out further than a tipped bullet yet still fits in the short magazine. I cannot write enough about the effect it has on game but you will not be dissapointed with this bullet in any 6.5 caliber with high velocities.

Beautifully made and totally devastating on big game. I have successfully taken several nice Idaho bull elk with this bullet out of a .264 Winchester magnum. All have been one shot kills at ranges out to about three hundred yards. One of these bullets through the shoulder area on a bull elk and you have meat on the ground, RIGHT THERE WHERE HE STOOD!! No tracking for miles and having em get away. Mine have all dropped in their tracks. Give these a try and see for yourself. I don't believe there is a better big game bullet being produced anywhere by anyone.

This bullet was the fix to my very temperamental Kimber 84M in .260 Remington. After trying numerous handloads (bullets, powders, primers, sizing, seating depths) and a variety of factory loads, I could find nothing my Kimber would shoot under 3MOA and with any consistency in POI shift from a clean to fouled bore, until I found this bullet. I was planning to re-barrel my Kimber 84M until I tried this bullet. Shoots consistently in the 1.5 MOA range for me and has alleviated any problems with POI shift.

These bullets are amazing in my E.R. Shaw barreled 6.5-284 Winchester. My groups from the ultra thin 24 in. barrel average .5 in and shoot at 3000 fps. Dropped one coyote in its tracks but have yet to use it on big game. I am glad to see that Barnes has finally made an accurate bullet in the X configuration.

In a 6.5/06 this bullet offers as good or better accuracy than any other that I have used including match grade (.6) Have not used it on game...Yet. Other X's have been the best

This is my second review on this bullet. I thought I would describe its impact on game. One 400 lb black bear, cow elk, and bobcat all with one shot. Not to mention some coyotes that thought they were out of range. Complete penetration and no tracking necessary.

I love this bullet in my 6.5X55AI, it is more common than not to have the first 4 shots touching and the 5th about 1/4" out at 100yds. I use a healthy dose of ramshot magnum and am getting about 2950fps with really good case life. Haven't killed with it yet but I'm positive that it'll do just fine.

Just finished load testing on 256 newton chambered remington and was very pleased. I have been using the 129gr hornandy spire for my pet load for this caliber avg about 2940 fps @ 3/4 moa. With the same charge of aa 3100 the 130gr barnes has the same point of impact at 100 yrds,chronos at an even 3000,and groups consistantly at 1/2". Can't wait to try it on live game. Very impressed with load tests so far.

I was not much of a X-bullet fan (too much copper fouling and so-so accuracy), even with the coated variety. These triple-shock ones however work perfectly - very accurate, minimal or no copper fouling. I think Barnes should just discontinue the regular X bullet and make only these.

abesolutely a great bullet, shot a 205 pound 9 pointer through both shoulders he went 20 yards with a river of a blood trail complete pass through amazing bullet out of 264 very highly recommended
