The carrier is well built ...

The carrier is well built and there is nothing wrong with it. However, I personally don't care for the design where bullets are touching the bottom of the plastic container and there is constant rattle of the lose cartridges. Wish I could just drop in the plastic carrier that comes with each ammo box (tight fit, suspended bullets) - that would be a five star product for sure.

Purchased this as a spare ...

Purchased this as a spare for one I had purchased in the 70's. It is nearly identical and even has the same I.D. # stamped on the back. Only differences are: 1)The new one has a plastic insert and the old one has a styrofoam insert, 2) The new one is fairly stiff leather and the finish doesn't seem to soak up leather oil very well, but I can work on that. Otherwise it appears to be the same great quality and craftsmanship as the older one. If it's anything like the old one it will be a lifetime purchase. I'm completely satisfied.

I recently purchased Hunter Cartridge Box for 30-06. Nicely made excellent stitching. The plastic 20 round insert fits tight.
