I have 3 pairs of these adapter bases. They have a low profile and are very secure in mounting. They do not fit the grooved receivers on Remington 580 series rifles--too small. My solution was to file the edges of the "lips", on the same angle, with a triangular file to provide more spread. They work well after being altered in this manner.

I have a Benjamin Marauder BP2563 which comes with the 3/8' dovetail rail milled into the top of the receiver. These guns have nearly zero recoil so I don't expect scope shift during firing but the clamping area is still relatively small and I was concerned that might enable bumps to affect the zero. These adapters do two things that greatly increase the strength of the mount. 1) the clamping area on the 3/8" dovetail of these adapters is about 300% of the area when using dovetail rings alone. 2) The weaver style Burris Zee rings are by many times more secure on these adapter bases than any rim-fire or airgun dovetail mount. When this base is combined with top quality weaver style rings, the concern about a lack of strength in the mount is gone. As other reviewers have pointed out, if the base fits too snugly to slide them on the dovetail, backing the clamping screws off a bit and prying the slot on the underside of the base will open it and allow easy installation. I would not recommend the file method mentioned as it is not as precise and much more difficult. This is an excellent system and worth the additional cost.

I bought these adapters to mount two TruGlo sights on my Marlin rifles, which have the standard 3/8" dovetail sight rail. The TruGlo sights use Weaver style mounts, which use a square profile cross-bolt that fits into a slot to locate the sight on the rail. The slots on all these adapter pieces are too narrow for the cross-bolts. I've been a professional quality assurance technician, and I know it isn't any great feat of engineering to make sure a square bolt will fit into a square slot.

Just put a set on my Mauser 201 and so far, so good ... seems like a well-designed, well-made product offering a more secure way of mounting a scope to a grooved receiver; versus going with the more delicate clamp-style rimfire mounts. Also, I wanted to see if this product fit the very "shallow" and slightly wide grooved receiver of my Remington 592 5mm Remington magnum. Like another reviewer here with a similar rifle having the same grooved receiver dimensions (he had a Rem. 580 rifle), the B-Square mount was a bit too narrow, but with minor "file" work, it would be compatible with Remington 580's/590's. Lastly, this mount should fit the majority of 3/8th-inch grooved receivers out there.

After reading the positive reviews I bought these. One adapter had one screw stripped right out of the package. Another one stripped when trying to tighten to stop scope from sliding. Made in China and I'm out $30.00

Product is simply made and robust. Workmanship is good. Like other reviewers, I found that the clearance for the groove was too narrow to just slip onto my Marlin 795. However, it was easy to pry the one piece units apart a bit with a screwdriver, after which they slipped on perfectly.

As another reviewer mentioned, I too would like a slightly larger one-piece design but these are adequate "as is" for my purposes. One set was great for two of my old paint guns. I put one on each of them and now I have more options for play such as: laser/light combos, pointsights, cameras and night-vision devices.Slide them on the dovetail, wrench them down and you're good. I had to "slightly" spread one apart with a large flathead screwdriver to get it to fit, but it fits snug now.

Just installed on my Marlin 795SS. Had to temporarily remove my back sight in order to install. Also had to gently pry the adapter open in order for it to begin sliding onto the dovetail rail. Very simple process that took very little time. Researched other adapters and glad I chose this one.

Installed on a Winchester 190, 22LR. Took a chance based on the positive reviews. Glad I did... works perfectly. With low 1" rings a 30 mm objective clears the rear V sight.
