The Lee 4-Cavity Ingot Mold is used to cast 1/2 and 1 pound ingots. It features a hard wood handle that stays cool even during extended casting sessions and the aluminum mold is lightweight to help reduce fatigue. Another of the great features of the aluminum mold is the rustproof nature of aluminum.

The Lee ingot mold is great. It is strong yet thin enough to cool off quickly & the interior is very smooth. The ingots drop out easily. I dont use the 1/2 ingots much but are a great option. The handle loosens as the wood scorches, but tightens right up w/a tap of the handle on a firm surface.

My only problem was the handle wouldn't stay on even for the first use. The handle slid off so easily that it was dangerous to use. I am VERY upset with the way the handle fits and is supposed to stay on. I just put some epoxy on it to see if that works to keep it on. Otherwise, great mold IF you have a use for the 1/2 pound ingots.

Not perfect, but works just fine. It warms up pretty fast, and after 3-4 casts I have to let it sit and cool before I dump them out. Solution - I bought another one!

This is a great mold for the money. I haven't had the issues that some of the other posters have had in regards to the handle coming loose, and I've made about 180lbs of ingots.

Mould is a little rough ...

Mould is a little rough cast on the inside, I would like to see it a bit smoother and yes the handle looks like it will come off with weight in it. I will be using JB Weld in there before I use the mould. Can't complain too much on sale for under 9 bucks though.

I bought this on sale and it was cheaper then a post cap and other brands. There really isnt much that can go wrong. As long as you put the handle on good, it will stay for awhile, and when it come loose, a good whack with a hammer will tighten it back up.

The ingot mold works well. I have cast several dozen ingots and they are the perfect size and shape. The handle could use some beefing up, which I did myself. I took a length of 1-1/2" oak dowel and drilled a hole in the end that was big enough to hold most of the metal handle extension tightly. I cross drilled through the dowel and pinned the new handle in place.

Even with the junky handle, it's a great value. If you take a piece of small dowel rod and lightly tap it into the top or bottom, it fits snuggly and is cheap. Even if this was twice as expensive, it'd be well worth it.

I own three of these molds for reducing large quanities of lead to useable sizes for bullet, ball and sinker making. The mold is a good tool, it cools qick, but if you use it a lot the wood handle gets hot and burns inside and becomes unuseable and you have to get out the trusty vise grips to turn your ingot mold over to empty it. If you use it for small quanties you will like it just fine.

I;ve melted over #600 of lead and the only problem I had was the handle came lose a few times.I like the #1/2 they fill in the small spaces in the melt pot. The lead drops right out. I started out with a Lyman and on the third fill the handle broke right at the base. I don't think you could find a better product for the price.

Works good, the problem is that the wood handles are very cheap and mine have broken and I have made less than 60 ingots! And make sure this mold is hot before you pour your lead into them unless you want major wrinkles! The good thing is they don't rust and are fairly cheap. I personally don't like the little 1/2 ones but it's ok!

I have several of these and the most common problem is the handles comes off after a while. What I did was to drill a tiny hole through the handle and through the piece that goes into the handle then tapped in a wire brad nail. I like this mold because it gives me the option of using a 1/2 lb ingot. When I cast small calibers from 9mm's to 38's 6 cavity molds and I use the 1/2 lb ingot in my 20 lb melter. For large calibers 45's through 44 mags, I use the 1 lb ingots. On my other 2 cavity molds the 1/2 lb works perfect so with the 1 lb ingots. For the price, it's a great buy.
