This Syrac Ordnance Mid Length Competition AR-15 Upper Assembly combines versatility, accuracy, and dependability into a high performance package that's perfectly suited for use in action shooting competitions like 3 Gun. It features a 16" stainless steel barrel cut with a 223 Wylde chamber, 1 in 8" twist rifling, M4 feed ramps, and a Melonited bolt carrier group with properly staked gas key. The upper comes equipped with a premium Daniel Defense MFR 12.0 modular rail handguard, which free floats the barrel for increased accuracy. The MFR creates an uninterrupted top rail platform with the A3 flat-top upper receiver for easy installation of the shooter's preferred sighting system, and also accommodates any desired Picatinny-style tactical accessories via removable modular rail sections (3 included) that can be bolted anywhere along its length.

The Mid Length Competition upper's unique 223 Wylde chamber has a throat length (leade) that's longer than a 223 Remington chamber, but tighter than the SAAMI specification for a 5.56x45mm NATO chamber. Its reliability with either type of ammunition and excellent accuracy potential make the 223 Wylde chambering "just right" for a multitude of roles, making it an equally good choice for use in competition, for hunting, or for defensive purposes. The upper's versatility is further increased via its solid Syrac Ordnance adjustable gas block. This superb low profile block resides under the MFR handguard and features a positive, detent-locking system to securely hold the adjustment screw in place once set to the desired gas flow, thus ensuring that the screw won't back out or shift positions during rapid strings of fire. The Mid Length Competition upper comes complete and ready to fire out of the box upon installation onto any standard AR-15 lower receiver.
